Military Police rescue mother and son kidnapped by fugitive ex-partner in Ponta Grossa
Victims were taken from their home during the early morning after threats of invasion and fire to the property; suspects were arrested

A military police action resulted in the rescue of a woman and her 3-year-old son who had been abducted during an occurrence of domestic violence early on Monday, in Ponta Grossa. According to information passed on by the 1st Battalion of the Military Police (1st BPM), the team was triggered to respond to a report of invasion of a residence in the Uvaranas neighborhood, around 1 am.
According to the corporation, three suspects had invaded the property, two of whom were armed with firearms and one with a white weapon. Among those involved were the victim’s ex-boyfriend and a friend of the couple. According to the PM, the suspects threatened to burn the residence if the woman did not accompany the group. Faced with the threats, the victim and the young son were removed from the site against their will.
The suspect was a fugitive from justice.
After the triggering, military police teams began searching and intelligence actions to locate the people involved and the victims. During the diligence, the main suspect of organizing the action was identified. Police also found that he was a fugitive from the prison system and had two open arrest warrants.

Those involved were located and arrested, while the woman and child were rescued safely. The military police said the incident was referred to the legal procedures and that investigations continue to clarify all the details of the case.
