Motorcyclist dies in Ponta Grossa after accident in Uvaranas. Sandro Carneiro, 36, was hospitalized at the Regional Hospital.
A motorcyclist died in Ponta Grossa after being hospitalized in serious condition as a result of an accident registered in the region of Uvaranas. Sandro Carneiro, 36, died at around 7.30pm on Saturday at the Ponta Grossa Regional Hospital.
According to information from Serviço Funerário Municipal, Sandro is being veiled in the Municipal Chapel São José. The burial is scheduled for this Monday (28), at 10am.
Sandro had been seriously injured in a collision involving the motorcycle he was driving and a Ford Ka. The accident occurred around 6:20 am on September 19, in Alameda Nabuco de Araújo, next to the Colégio Agrícola, in the region of Uvaranas, in Ponta Grossa.
Accident happened in Uvaranas
According to information obtained at the scene on the day of the occurrence, the driver of the Ford Ka had accessed Alameda Nabuco de Araújo after leaving Rua Teixeira Mendes.
According to the initial reports, the driver of the car reduced the speed to pass through an existing backbone on the road. At this point, the motorcycle driven by Sandro, who was just behind, would have hit the rear of the vehicle.
With the force of the impact, the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, especially in the head region.
Teams from the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) were mobilized to provide care. Sandro needed to be intubated during first aid and was subsequently sent in a serious condition to the Regional Hospital of Ponta Grossa.
According to the information available at the time, he was unconscious during the emergency teams’ attendance.
Driver was not injured
The driver of the Ford Ka, who would be a resident of the area, suffered no injuries. He remained at the scene after the accident to provide clarifications to the teams responsible for attending to the occurrence.
A team of the Military Police was also in Alameda Nabuco de Araújo to register the incident report and carry out the necessary procedures.
In the initial care, it was also found that the motorcyclist used ankle brace.
After being hospitalized, Sandro Carneiro did not resist the injuries. The confirmation of the death ends more than a week of hospitalization after the serious accident registered in Uvaranas.
The funeral takes place in the Municipal Chapel São José, in Ponta Grossa, and the burial is scheduled for 10am this Monday (28).
