Motorcyclist Runs Over Police Officer During Fleeing and Ends Up Arrested in Irati

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was arrested in flagrante by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) after running over a civilian policeman during an attempted escape in Irati, in the Campos Gerais region. The incident was recorded late Monday afternoon (21), in the Lagoa neighborhood, and ended with the seizure of the motorcycle used by the suspect.

According to PCPR, the police team was on Rua Maria Alves da Luz, where they were completing a search and seizure warrant, when they spotted a blue Honda CG 150 Titan motorcycle driving at excessive speed.

The driver performed sudden accelerations, known as "cut-turn", and the motorcycle exhibited tampered exhaust. According to police, the maneuvers put pedestrians and children in the vicinity at risk.

Motorcyclist disobeys order to stop and hits police

In response to the situation, the police ordered the motorcyclist to stop. However, as reported by PCPR, the young man disobeyed the determination and accelerated the motorcycle directly in the direction of the team.

During the action, a Judicial Police officer was hit by the vehicle and suffered abrasions and bruises.

Even after hitting the policeman, the motorcyclist continued to escape at high speed through several roads of Irati, disrespecting preference and putting pedestrians at risk.

The team started a chase and managed to intercept the suspect.

At the time of the approach, the young man resisted the arrest and, according to the Civil Police, professed offenses against the officers. It required the moderate and progressive use of force to contain it and cuff it.

Motorcycle was with pending documentation since 2013

During the inspection, the police found that the motorcycle had administrative debts and was with the documentation pending since 2013.

In addition, the driver did not have a National License (CNH).

According to PCPR, the suspect himself admitted that the irregular situation of the motorcycle and the lack of license were the reasons that led him to flee from the police approach.

The vehicle was seized and referred to the appropriate administrative procedures.

The young man was sent to the public prison of Irati

After the arrest, the motorcyclist and the injured police officer were referred to the Pronto Atendimento Unit (UPA) for the examination of bodily injuries.

The young man was presented to the police authority on duty at the Regional Central of Flagrantes, where the prison was ratified.

The man was convicted in flagrante for the crimes of bodily injury against public security officer, resistance, contempt, practice of dangerous maneuver on public roads and driving vehicle without license.

After the legal proceedings, he was referred to the Public Chain of Irati, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice.
