Municipal Government Reinforces Maintenance of Rural Roads After Rainy Period in Ponta Grossa
Municipal Government Intensifies Maintenance of Rural Roads in Ponta Grossa After Heavy Rains, with Services Including Grading, Graveling and Drainage

After the days of heavy rains recorded in Ponta Grossa, the City Council intensified on Friday (16) the maintenance services on the rural roads of the municipality. With the improvement in weather conditions, teams from the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply were mobilized to act in different points of the districts.
The works seek to recover sections affected by the rain and ensure better traffic conditions for residents, rural producers and vehicles responsible for the transport of food and other products.
Among the services performed are the cleaning of the roads, preparation of the soil, levelling, compaction and graveling in points that present a greater need for intervention.
Improvements in water flow
The teams also work on the unobstructed and adequate water outlets along the roads. The measure helps to reduce water accumulation on the roadbed and can prevent further damage during periods of heavy rain.
According to the municipal secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Izaltino Cordeiro dos Santos, the work is done in direct contact with rural communities to identify the places considered most critical.
“We have a permanent contact with the communities so that, together, we can identify and act in the most critical places, especially where there is greater circulation of vehicles for the arrival and exit of food in rural communities,” he said.
The secretary also highlighted the collaboration of rural producers and local companies, who assist in the execution and optimization of services in the districts.
Teams operate in Lavrinhas and Estrada do Kalinoski
On Friday, some of the work fronts were concentrated in the Lavrinhas region, in the Itaiacoca District, and also on the Kalinoski Road.
A rural owner in Lavrinhas, Janderson Braga highlighted the importance of proximity between the community and municipal teams.
“This support is fundamental for us to be more calm, it is very important to have this close contact with the staff of the City Hall that works here in the region,” he commented.
Paths of the Agro
In addition to emergency actions carried out after periods of rain, the Municipality maintains regular recovery services through the Caminhos do Agro program.
According to the City Council, since 2025 more than 1,200 kilometers of rural roads have already received improvements in the districts of Itaiacoca, Guaragi, Uvaia and Periquitos.
The interventions are part of the strategy of maintaining the rural network, used daily by residents and the productive sector of Ponta Grossa.
