Municipal Guard arrests two suspects in shop theft in Ponta Grossa
Two suspects in a shop theft in Ponta Grossa were arrested by the Municipal Guard after being identified by cameras from CIOPS
Two suspected shoplifters in Ponta Grossa were arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) after an occurrence recorded in the Central region of the city. The action took place after agents of the Center for Intelligence and Security Operations (CIOPS) identified, by the monitoring cameras of the Municipality, the movement related to the crime.
According to information from the Municipal Secretariat of Citizenship and Public Security (SMCSP), CIOPS agents perceived the movement of the suspects in the vicinity of a establishment located in the Ponta Grossa promenade.
After the identification of the situation, a team of the Tactical Action Group (GAT) was activated to carry out searches in the region.
Suspects were found a few blocks
Based on the characteristics and the information passed on by the CIOPS, the guards located two possible involved a few blocks from the establishment.
During the approach, officers found four pairs of sneakers wrapped in a piece of cloth with one of the suspects.
According to the report of the occurrence, during the conversation with those approached it was informed that the other individual was responsible for breaking the shop window.
Afterwards, the officers returned to the establishment and checked the damage caused at the site. One of the windows had been broken and products had been removed from the inside of the store.
Monitoring helped with location
The operation of the CIOPS cameras was fundamental for the teams to follow the movement and pass on information to the agents who carried out the searches in the Central region.
An employee of the company responsible for the store’s private monitoring system also appeared at the address and contacted the establishment’s owner to report on the incident.
The case of shoplifting in Ponta Grossa ended with the two suspects referred by the Municipal Civil Guard to the 13th Police Subdivision (13th SDP).
At the police station, the persons involved were at the disposal of the police authority for the procedures related to the occurrence.
The Municipal Secretariat of Citizenship and Public Security highlighted in the report that the occurrence had integrated action between the CIOPS and the Grouping of Tactical Actions of the Municipal Civil Guard, from the identification of the movement by the cameras to the location of the suspects in the Central region of Ponta Grossa.
