New Connection of Anita Garibaldi Avenue is inaugurated in Ponta Grossa
The new connection of Anita Garibaldi Avenue was inaugurated on Monday (7), in Ponta Grossa. With an investment of approximately R$ 12 million, the project creates a direct connection between Órfãs and Boa Vista.

The new connection of Avenida Anita Garibaldi was inaugurated on Monday (7), at Ponta Grossa. The work directly connects the Orfãs and Boa Vista neighborhoods and offers a new alternative of displacement for drivers who circulate through different regions of the city.
According to Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, the investment made in the connection is approximately R$ 12 million. The intervention connects the end of Avenida Anita Garibaldi to the region of Rua Radialista Nelson Annunziato, defeating the Arroio Lajeado Grande valley, which until then separated the two regions geographically.
The delivery closes one of the main recent urban mobility works of Ponta Grossa. The beginning of the work had been announced by the City Hall in May 2024. The project includes more than 630 meters of road connection and received resources from the Financing for Infrastructure and Sanitation (Finisa).
Work required nearly 4,500 trucks of land
One of the main challenges of the construction was to overcome the valley of Arroio Lajeado Grande. To do this, a landfill of approximately 14 meters high was erected.
During the execution, almost 4,500 trucks loaded with earth were used to form and compact the structure that supports the new track.
In addition to the paving, the work included drainage systems, pedestrian sidewalks, protective walls, signage, urbanization of the accesses and a new roundabout.
New alternative for Ponta Grossa transit
With the inauguration, drivers will have a direct connection between the regions of Órfãs and Boa Vista, avoiding longer routes that were previously necessary to circulate between the two sides of the valley.
The City Council expects that the new connection will also help in the distribution of the flow of vehicles in other important streets of the city.
The connection can benefit those who circulate in regions such as Orphans, Boa Vista, Bairro Novo, Jardim Carvalho, New Russia, Ronda, Chapada and Centro. The new route also creates an alternative for commuting to the exits of Ponta Grossa to Castro and Carambeí.
