OAB PG launches action with donations and poetry for women in custody

The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) – Subsection Ponta Grossa held, last Tuesday (29), an action aimed at women deprived of their liberty in the Public Chain Delegate Hildebrando de Souza – Custodian House of Ponta Grossa (CCPG).

Designed by the Committee on Culture and Citizenship, chaired by Kelly Cristina Bida da Costa, the initiative united citizenship, care and culture, with the delivery of hygiene products and the participation of poets and troubadours of the Brazilian Union of Troubadours (UBT) – Section Ponta Grossa.

The mobilization collected essential items for the hygiene of women, with special attention to the donation of tampons. Soaps, toothbrushes, toothpastes and other products were also donated. The proposal of the action was to contribute to the dignity and intimate care of women, especially in the face of the particularities of hygiene in a collective environment.

The initiative was also supported by Rotary Club Vila Velha. Through its president, Fernanda de Sá and Benevides Carneiro, the club joined the proposal and contributed with the donation of hygiene materials for the action.

In addition to the donations, the program featured a cultural moment prepared especially for women. Poets and troubadours from UBT participated with the declamation of verses written for the occasion, bringing messages of encouragement, motivation, overcoming and prospects for a fresh start.

Kelly Cristina Bida da Costa highlighted the involvement of the participants and, above all, the reaction of the women during the declamations. “Action of excellence, bringing citizenship and culture together as transforming instruments for human dignity. Thank you to all who joined for the realization of the action in partnerships between the OAB commissions. For Culture and Citizenship, objectives achieved”, highlights the Chair of the Committee on Culture and Citizenship of the OAB Ponta Grossa.

Also participating in the action were representatives of OAB Ponta Grossa, members of the Culture and Citizenship, Women and Human Rights committees, as well as writers, volunteer lawyers and collaborators involved in the collection. The president of OAB Subsection Ponta Grossa, Mariantonieta Pailo Ferraz, followed the initiative and highlighted the entity’s incentive to the actions developed by its commissions. In the morning, the activity was directed at the women deprived of the unit’s freedom.
