Oktoberfest no trem: Expresso Classique ganha edição especial com o Bar do Alemão em Curitiba
Dinner aboard the luxury wagons of the Serra Verde Express will have typical menu, band, folk dance and chope released.

Curitiba receives, on Friday, October 16, a night dedicated to the Germanic traditions at the Railway Station. It is the Oktoberfest in the Trihos, the first Classic Express inspired by the most famous party in Germany. The choice values the heritage of immigrants who arrived in the capital in the 19th century and who are still present at the table and in the customs of the city. The menu is from the Bar do Alemão and includes the tadicional chope Submarino.
“Curitiba has an ancient connection with German culture, and the Bar do Alemão is part of the emotional memory of those who live here. Joining this tradition with the train is a way to make the party even more lively,” says Adonai Arruda Filho, director general of Serra Verde Express.
The menu was created jointly by the chef of Serra Verde Express and the staff of Bar do Alemão, traditional bohemian point of Largo da Ordem, at centro histórico. From there also comes the Chope Submarino, which takes a dose of steinhäger, a distillate of German origin, served in a mug dipped in the glass. Drinks and beer will be free throughout the event.
The evening begins at 8 pm, on the boarding platform, with welcome drink, the welcome drink, which will be sparkling. At 8:15 p.m., a group of German folk dancers performs for the guests. Then, at 20:30, the train departs for a ride of up to 30 minutes towards the immediate Jardim Botânico.
Back at the station, dinner is served at 9:15 p.m. inside the wagons. From 10 pm, the program continues on the platform, with live music in an environment decorated with period furniture, exhibition of works of art, the space Kaffe Kantate and cigar shop. A typical German band is also part of the attractions. Closure is scheduled for 11:00 p.m.
The menu has three options, all with starter, main course and dessert. In the first two, the meal opens with ounce meat, a traditional Curitiba recipe made with finely ground and seasoned beef, accompanied by rye broth.
The guest then chooses between Eisbein and Rouladen. The first is the slowly prepared pork knee, served with sauerkraut, which is fermented cabbage, Bockwurst sausage and potatoes. The second brings thin slices of beef rolled up and stuffed, cooked in full-bodied sauce, with Spätzle, a typical German dough, and purple cabbage.
The third alternative is vegan. Starts with a leafy salad, cucumber and sweet and sour carrot and follows with a version of the Frikadellen, a common cake in German cuisine, here made only with ingredients of vegetable origin. For everyone, the dessert is Apfelstrudel, a delicate and crispy dough stuffed with apples and spices.
Held on specific dates throughout the year, Expresso Classique has the dishes prepared in the only kitchen wagon in operation in Brazil. Reservations are made through the Serra Verde Express website, and the recommendation is to secure the place in advance.
