Old Man Arrested Suspected of Sexually Abusing His 7 and 11-Year-Old Granddaughters in PG
A 69-year-old suspect was detained in the Contorno neighborhood; victims are 7 and 11 years old, according to the Civil Police
The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) preventively arrested, on Thursday (24), a 69-year-old man investigated for rape of a vulnerable two granddaughters, 7 and 11 years old, in Ponta Grossa. He was located in his residence, in the Garden Gralha Azul, Contorno neighborhood, by agents of the Child and Adolescent Protection Center Victims of Crimes (Nucria).
According to PCPR, the investigation began after an occurrence report registered on June 5, 2026. The record was accompanied by reports of spontaneous revelation formalized by the school community.

The investigation shows that the alleged abuses occurred when the children were at their grandfather’s house. During the survey, conducted by delegate Ana Paula Cunha Carvalho, the team gathered statements, audiovisual media and specialized listening records made by the psychology sector of Nucria.
The investigator was questioned in the presence of a lawyer and denied the charges. After fulfilling the pretrial arrest warrant, he was referred to the state penitentiary system, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice. Arrest is a precautionary measure and does not represent conviction.
