Operário starts transition of Germano Krüger to Arena Espaço Smart in Ponta Grossa, with new facade and progress on the construction.
The Operário Ferroviário officially began the transition of the Estádio Germano Krüger's name to Arena Smart Space, in Ponta Grossa. On Tuesday (29), a new tarp was installed on the façade of the covered stands, already presenting to the public the visual identity that will be gradually adopted by the club.
The change is part of the naming rights agreement signed between the Operário Ferroviário and Smart Space, a company specialized in Steel Frame and master sponsor of the Phantom.
From now on, the name Arena Espaço Smart will be officially used in everything related to the works and construction of the new structure. For the stadium as a whole, however, the new name will be officialized after the completion of the first stage of the project, scheduled for March 2027.
Transition will be made gradually
Until the delivery of the first stage, the Worker will gradually incorporate the name Smart Space Arena into his communication.
The strategy seeks to allow fans, the press and the community to adapt to the new identity of the stadium, which for decades became known mainly as Germano Krüger.
The change of the canvas on the façade of the covered bleachers is one of the first visible signs of this transition. The new brand takes a prominent place in the stadium just as the modernization project enters a new phase.
Works enter the foundation phase
In addition to the visual change, Wednesday (30) marks the advancement of the works of the Smart Space Arena.
Stage 1 of the project, located in the Padre Nóbrega Street region, enters the foundation phase. Machines must arrive at the site for the beginning of the drilling of the soil, execution of the foundations and subsequent concrete.
The movement represents the effective beginning of the construction of the new structure.
The first stage provides for about 2,500 new seats
The first phase of the Arena Espaço Smart provides for the expansion of the stadium structure, with the creation of approximately 2,500 new seats, in addition to the implementation of new commercial spaces.
The project is part of a wider stage transformation process of the Operário Ferroviário, which will be executed in stages.
The first of these is expected to be completed in March 2027. As of this delivery, the name Arena Espaço Smart should officially identify the entire stadium.
With the new facade and the beginning of the foundations, the Worker begins to transform also visually and structurally one of the most traditional football spaces of Ponta Grossa.
