Former player Carlos Alberto Dias, who defended the Operário Ferroviário in the 2005 and 2006 seasons, died on Monday at the age of 59. The information was released by the club of Ponta Grossa, which published a note regretting the death of the former athlete.
Carlos Alberto Dias acted as a midfielder and built a career marked by passages by important Brazilian football teams. In addition to wearing the Alvinegro shirt of Operário Ferroviário, the player went through clubs such as Coritiba, Botafogo, Vasco, Grêmio, Flamengo, Paraná Clube, Bahia, Fluminense, Ceará and Vila Nova.

In the farewell published on Monday, the Operário Ferroviário expressed support for the family and friends of the former player.
"In this moment of sadness, Operário Ferroviário expresses solidarity with family, friends and everyone who lived with Carlos, wishing strength and comfort to all," the club said.
