Operário starts preparation of Germano Krüger for construction of the new arena

The refurbishment of the Estádio Germano Krüger, on Ponta Grossa, entered its first phase of preparation on Monday (14). The Operário Ferroviário started “fine cleaning” and removal of structures in the stadium, a step that precedes the interventions planned for the implementation of the new Arena Espaço Smart.

In this first moment, the teams act on the removal of elements existing in the current structure of Germano Krüger. Among the authorized services are the removal of wire and bodyguards, as well as the removal of ceramics and granites located in the bars of the stadium.

The repositioning of electrical, network and fiber optic cables is also part of the work. The cameras installed in the current structure are also being transferred to other points.

Demolition of the bleachers has not yet begun.

Despite the movement within the stadium, the demolition of the stands has not yet begun. The work carried out at this stage is exclusively preparatory and involves the removal or adaptation of existing equipment and structures.

The heaviest intervention depends on the approval of the permit by Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa. Until this authorization is granted, the club will continue to perform only the services allowed to prepare Germano Krüger for the next stages of the project.

The reform of the Estádio Germano Krüger is part of the project that will transform the traditional stadium of the Worker into a new arena, keeping the sports structure in the same space currently occupied by the Phantom.

The first stage will have a stadium for about 3,500 people.

The first stage of the project is concentrated in the area facing Padre Nóbrega Street. On site, the implementation of a new stall in the form of a slide is planned, with a capacity of approximately 3,5 thousand fans.

The project also provides for the installation of commercial spaces integrated into the new structure, expanding the possibilities of use of the stadium beyond the days of games.

With the transformation, the arena will now have the naming rights Smart Space, a brand that will be associated with the new chapter in the history of the alvinegro stadium.

The first stage should be ready in 2027

The first stage of the Arena Espaço Smart is expected to be completed between the end of February and the beginning of March 2027.

Until then, the Operário Ferroviário will continue to advance in the procedures required for the work. Although the structural transformation has not yet begun effectively, Monday’s services represent the beginning of the physical preparation of the space so that the next phases can be executed according to the planned schedule.

The design of the new arena marks one of the biggest structural changes in the recent history of the Worker and the traditional Estádio Germano Krüger, one of the main sports symbols of Ponta Grossa.
