Operário wins Criciúma away and enters the G5 of Série B
Operário defeats Criciúma 2-0 away in Série B and takes fifth place in the competition with 47 points.
The Worker wins Criciúma 2 to 0 on Tuesday (22), at the Heriberto Hülse stadium, in Criciúma, for the 29th round of the Brazilian Championship Series B. The win away from home placed the Phantom again among the top five of the competition and increased the confidence of the Paraná team in the final straight of the championship.
The first goal of the match came in the 37th minute of the first half. The forward Caio Dantas received the ball, advanced into the area and finished crossed. The kick also deviated in the defensive system of Criciúma before entering the corner of the goal, with no chances for the opponent's goalkeeper.
In the second stage, the Worker managed to increase the score in the final minutes. In addition, Maxwell scored the Ghost's second goal in a move initially overturned by the impediment arbitration.
After the review of the VAR, the play was validated and confirmed the victory of the Worker by 2 to 0 against Criciúma.
With the result, the Phantom reached 47 points and surpassed Criciúma in the Serie B classification. The two teams have the same score, but the Worker takes advantage in the balance of goals, with five positive goals against one of the opponent.
The match also had an episode outside the four lines involving the technical command of Criciúma. Eduardo Baptista, coach of Tigre, appears as one of the names quoted to take over the International after the departure of Paulo Pezzolano. The club is already working with possibilities of substitution if the negotiation progresses.
In addition, the coach has been pressured after the team loses the lead in Serie B. During the confrontation against the Worker, Eduardo Baptista received criticism and negative manifestations from the crowd present in the stadium.
With the victory, the Worker gains strength in the contest for access and continues in the search for a prominent position in the final straight of the Serie B. The team returns to the field on Saturday (26), at 16:30, when it receives Ceará.
