Our Lady Aparecida Race will have promotional registration and full programming in Ponta Grossa
Our Lady Aparecida Race in Ponta Grossa will feature 5 and 10 km races, walk, kids' race, solidarity action and religious programming.

The Nossa Senhora Aparecida Race in Ponta Grossa arrives for the third edition on October 12, a holiday dedicated to the patroness of Brazil. The event will have 5 km and 10 km races, walking and kids race, plus food collection, cash prizes and a religious and festive programming throughout the day.
In an interview with BnT News on Wednesday, Luciano Tizon, a member of the organization, presented the details of the 2026 edition and announced a promotional condition to encourage public participation.
According to him, the promotional value of the registration will be R$ 79, accompanied by the donation of a kilo of food. The condition would be released on Wednesday after lunch.
Until then, the values disclosed for the last lot were R$ 99 for the 5 km and 10 km races, R$ 59 for the walk and R$ 49 for the kids race.
The registrations follow until the 4th of October through the website cavaliproeventos.com.br.
Event will help in the reform of the sanctuary
The race is promoted by Paróquia São Sebastião, located in New Russia, which is home to the Diocesan Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Aparecida in Ponta Grossa.
All proceeds raised from the event will be earmarked for the works of sanctuary reform.
“We are heading into our third edition. It is a charitable race that comes to further publicize our sanctuary and also help with the donation of food to families assisted by our parish,” Luciano explained during the interview with BnT.
In addition to the financial collection, the organization also encourages the donation of non-perishable food. The products must be delivered during the withdrawal of the athlete’s kit and will be destined for families served by Paróquia São Sebastião.
5km and 10km races will be awarded
The start takes place at 6:30 in front of the Church of St. Sebastian, in the Rua Coronel Generoso Martins de Araújo, 1750, in New Russia. The main events will have 5 km and 10 km courses. According to Luciano, the routes will be the same as those used in the previous edition.
The choice aims to allow athletes to already know the route and can prepare in advance for the competition.
The first places of the men’s and women’s general classification of the 5 km and 10 km races will receive cash prizes, paid for by Pix.
In addition to the competitive events, the event will have walking and running kids, expanding participation for children and families.
“We come with the kids race and the walk just for those who want to go together with the family and participate in this differentiated moment,” Luciano said.
Programming starts at 6:30 am and continues throughout the day
The race opens a special schedule prepared for the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Day.
After the tests and the walk, the religious program begins with Mass at 10 am.
At 2 pm the traditional procession will be held, with departure from the Hospital Bom Jesus and destination to the Diocesan Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Aparecida.
Upon arrival at the sanctuary, there will be a new celebration, scheduled for approximately 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m. the awards show will be held. Among the prizes announced are a Beetle, an electric motorcycle, R $ 1,000 in cash and other items.
The closing of the program takes place with Mass at 7 p.m.
During the day, the space will also have food trucks and festive activities for the public.
Novena begins on October 3rd
The religious program precedes the day of the race.
The novena of Nossa Senhora Aparecida starts on October 3rd and continues until the 11th, always at 7.30pm.
According to Luciano, every night there will be the participation of a different priest. The celebrations culminate with the October 12th program.
Organization wants to surpass previous edition audience
The third edition also seeks to increase the number of participants.
According to Luciano, one of the objectives is to bring families closer to the parish, in addition to stimulating sports practice and solidarity.
The race was born of an initiative developed with the parish priest of the community to disseminate the sanctuary and increase the collection of food for families in situations of vulnerability.
The organization also intends to keep the event going for years to come.
“We are now in the third edition and we intend to continue. We are very dependent on the success of this year’s race to have the goal of taking place the fourth edition as well,” he said.
