Over 4,300 sections change location in the second round
The Electoral Justice transferred 4,352 election sections to new addresses for the second round of the 2026 elections. The changes occurred due to rain, renovations and infrastructure issues. Voters can check the location via e-Título or Electoral Self-Service.

The Justiça Eleitoral changed the polling place of 4,352 electoral sections for the second round of the 2026 elections, scheduled for Sunday, October 25. The number corresponds to 0.87% of the 499,248 sections installed in the country. The changes were motivated by heavy rains, last-minute reforms, accessibility problems and lack of electricity, according to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
In some situations, damaged locations had the sections transferred preventively to nearby buildings considered safer. The consultation can be made by the e-Title application or by the Election Self-Service, on the TSE website. According to the court, changes made by the cartórios eleitorais appear immediately on these channels.
States with more changes
Data released by TSE on Friday show that the changes have focused on some of the states with the largest voters. São Paulo had 982 sections with change of location; Minas Gerais, 514; Rio de Janeiro, 431; and Bahia, 312. The court said the change of address did not mean there was a reduction in the number of electoral sections or damage to voters.
In Confresa, inside Mato Grosso, for example, heavy rains and winds recorded on October 9 and 10 damaged the coverage of a municipal school that functioned as a polling place. The property presented infiltrations and problems in the linings. An engineering report issued on Sunday (11) recommended the immediate preventive interdiction of the school. As a result, the electoral sections installed there were transferred to another address nearby.
Reasons for transfers
In addition to weather phenomena, according to TSE, they also led to last-minute maintenance changes, unfinished school reforms and loss of minimum accessibility or power supply conditions. Changes are not determined directly by TSE. According to the court, the decision rests with each electoral zone, which analyzes the conditions of the polling places and the infrastructure available in the municipality.
In response to TV Globo, the TSE also reported that changes between the two shifts may occur due to extreme events such as flooding, storms and other weather conditions that cause damage to polling places. The court directed that the specific situations of each state be verified before the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs).
How to consult your location
The voter can check in advance where he will vote for the e-Title or for the Self-Service Election of the TSE Portal. The recommendation is to check the address before leaving the house, especially in regions affected by rain or works. The second round will be held next Sunday (25), from 8 am to 5 pm, by the time of Brasilia.
In the dispute for the Presidency of the Republic are Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL). In addition to the presidential election, there will be a second round for governor in six states and the Federal District. As there will be fewer positions in dispute at this stage, the TSE states that the vote should be faster and that the expectation is of smaller queues and greater agility in attendance.
Climate Monitoring
This year, the president of TSE, Minister Kassio Nunes Marques, created the National Room of Climate Situation for the Elections 2026, intended to monitor possible impacts of climate phenomena in the realization of the vote. According to the court, the monitoring is done in conjunction with bodies such as the National Meteorological Institute (Inmet), the National Center for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alerts (Cemaden), the National Space Research Institute (Inpe), the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA), Defesa Civil and the Forças Armadas.
The network tracks situations such as storms, droughts, and natural disasters that may affect voting locations or transport routes. For voters, the guidance is simple: check your polling place in advance and, if in doubt, look for your state’s polling station or TRE. The Boca no Trombone Portal will continue to follow the updates on the second round.
