The Government of Paraná will maintain an integrated public security operation in the 399 municipalities of the State during the second round of elections, scheduled for this Sunday (25). The planning, coordinated by the Secretariat of Public Security of Paraná (Sesp), will follow the model adopted in the first round, with the mobilization of police forces and emergency teams to ensure the tranquility of the vote.

The actions will begin on Saturday (24) and will follow during Sunday, with special attention to polling places, areas near the electoral sections and transport of the ballot boxes. The operation will include the participation of the Military Police (PMPR), Civil Police (PCPR), Criminal Police (PPPR), Scientific Police (PCIPR) and Military Firefighters (CBMPR).

In addition to the state forces, federal and municipal bodies will also participate in the activities, with action coordinated by the Integrated Regional Command and Control Center (CICCR), located in Curitiba.

Military police will have ready troops to avoid conflicts

The Paraná Military Police will maintain mobilized teams throughout the election period, including the eve of the vote and the moments after the close of the election.

The planning includes preventive patrol, safety in the transport of the ballot boxes and attendance of occurrences related to possible electoral crimes.

Among the main concerns of the authorities are possible clashes between political groups, acts of vandalism and situations of violence that could compromise the safety of voters.

The police force will remain available for the time considered necessary, according to the operational evaluations carried out during the electoral process.

Police stations will operate for incidents.

The Paraná Civil Police will also keep its police stations and police units in operation to attend to occurrences within its jurisdiction, including cases related to electoral crimes.

The corporation will also participate in intelligence and monitoring activities together with the other institutions involved in the operation.

The Criminal Police, the Scientific Police and the Military Fire Department will also provide teams to act according to the needs identified during the electoral period.

The objective is to ensure rapid response to situations that may hinder the progress of the vote or put the population at risk.

Elections will be monitored in real time

During Sunday (25th), the Secretariat of Public Security will release bulletins with information on events recorded in the municipalities of Paraná.

The data will be gathered on a platform developed by the Center for Analysis, Research and Statistics (Cape), which will allow to track the records of electoral infractions and crimes in different regions of the State.

The system will present information on the number of police officers mobilized, vehicles used, arrests, seizures and other occurrences attended by security forces.

The information will be updated as the records are entered and processed on the platform, allowing the monitoring of the operation by municipality.

Security will be strengthened throughout the electoral process

The main purpose of the integrated structure is to ensure that voters can exercise the right to vote with peace of mind, as well as to protect Justiça Eleitoral servers and other professionals involved in organizing the election.

In Curitiba, a support structure for the press will be available at Sesp headquarters, in the Civic Center. The space will have internet access and centralized information from the five security forces.

The state mobilization will continue for the period necessary to ensure the security of the vote, the transport of the ballot boxes and the activities after the closure of the second round.
