PC clarifies false kidnapping and two men are charged with extortion in Ponta Grossa

The Civil Police of Ponta Grossa, through the 4th Regional Central of Flagrantes, charged in flagrante delito, in the afternoon of Tuesday (22), two men of 27 and 24 years of age for the practice of the crime of Extortion with Increase of Penalty for the contest of people. The crime targeted the companion of one of the suspects, a 36-year-old woman, who had been threatened and coerced into making financial transfers on the allegation of ransom from a false kidnapping.

The investigations began after an operational alert and an incident record that reported the alleged abduction of the 27-year-old man, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, with the retention of his vehicle and cellular device. The victim had been receiving insistent messages, audios with an intimidating tone and forged photos that simulated the captivity of the boy, initially demanding the amount of R $ 2,000, then reduced to R $ 1,000 and R $ 500.00.

Faced with intelligence reports and road tracking, military police teams located and boarded the car on Avenida Souza Naves. To the surprise of the agents, the vehicle was driven by the alleged victim of the kidnapping, having as one of the passengers his 24-year-old friend. The driver, who had been questioned in advance, said he had been released on the side of the highway and that he had stopped notifying the authorities to assist in the search for his friend's nephew, who had disappeared.

However, during the formal hearings coordinated by the Police Authority and the collection of evidence in this Flagrantes Central, it was found that both authors actually consumed drinks overnight and combined the staging to obtain financial advantages. One of the young men allegedly even changed the tone of voice to simulate a kidnapper, recorded audios with the charges and photographed the partner on his back to forge the condition of hostage. It was also found that the accounts provided by the authors for deposit to be made by the victim corresponded to virtual betting platforms (bets) and the threats used strictly intimate information of the woman's family, data known only by the partner.

In the face of the robust set of evidence, the Police Authority ratified the arrest in flagrante of both individuals as incursions in article 158, § 1, of the Brazilian Penal Code. No bail arbitration in the police headquarters due to the sentence imposed, the defendants were submitted to tests of practice and referred to the penitentiary system, where they will remain at the disposal of the Judiciary.
