PL acknowledges election result, but demands clarifications
The PL acknowledged the presidential election result on Monday (26), but demanded clarifications regarding the raised questions. Flávio Bolsonaro, the defeated candidate, did not recognize Lula's victory and announced a request for the annulment of the slate.

The PL, the party of the defeated candidate Flávio Bolsonaro, recognized on Monday (26) the result of the presidential election. In a note signed by party president Valdemar Costa Neto, the PL affirms that it recognizes the result proclaimed by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), but "questions raised need to be duly clarified".
After the confirmation of the result on Sunday night (25), Flavio did not recognize the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and said that he will ask for the annulment of the elections. With 51.79% of the vote, Lula was re-elected for a fourth term as president of the Republic.
PL's Note Defends Democracy and Freedom
"The PL will continue to stand firm, acting with independence and responsibility in the defense of democracy, freedom and the values we represent. Our commitment is to Brazil and to the millions of Brazilians who trust in our work,” the statement said.
In a video released on Monday (26), Flavio said he will ask for the cassation of President Lula's plate. The declaration comes after the official result of the polls.
Minister of TSE confirms process safety
Soon after the result pointed to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) as the winner of the second round, Minister Kassio Nunes Marques, President of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) nominated for office by former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), confirmed the result and stated that he has "absolute security of the entire electoral process".
Flavius, however, insisted that "it is impossible to recognize this result." During the speech, Flavio also criticized the decision of the minister of the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) to extend by two hours the closing time of the votes on Sunday (25).
Flavio claims breaking of isonomy between cities
He also claimed that there had been a "total breakdown of isonomy among Brazilians from different cities, from different states". "I will never know if, in the state where the ballot boxes have not been reopened, how many votes I could have," Flávio said.
The statement contradicts the request of Flávio Bolsonaro's own campaign to TSE. On Sunday afternoon, the Senator’s team requested the extension of voting hours in municipalities of Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, São Paulo and Santa Catarina.
Data from TSE show Lula's advantage
➡️G1 survey with data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) indicates that 35,521 votes were registered after 5 p.m. on Sunday (25), at Brasília time. Lula’s advantage was 4.4 million votes: he had 64.2 million, against 59.8 million Flávio Bolsonaro.
In addition to questioning the change of time, Flávio Bolsonaro also stated that PL taxpayers were reportedly removed from the Court’s vault room during the 2026 election count. It was denied by the TSE.
TSE denies withdrawal of taxpayers from the vault
The court stated that the statement that PL taxpayers were removed from the Court’s safe room during the examination was false, that the site is not open to visitation and that the PL taxpayers followed the totalization and disclosure of the results in an area intended for inspection.
The impasse over the recognition of the result keeps the political scene in focus. The PL, by means of a note, signals accept the proclamation of the TSE, but charges transparency in the clarifications.
