PMPR seizes over 930 kg of marijuana in rural area of Marilena
Marijuana seizure in Marilena ends with 932.8 kg of drug found by PMPR in two cars. Drivers fled into a wooded area.
The seizure of marijuana in Marilena, in the northwest of the Paraná, resulted in the withdrawal of 932.8 kilograms of the drug from circulation on Wednesday (23). The action was carried out by the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR), through teams of the 3rd Independent Military Police Company (CIPM), during an approach to two vehicles that transited through a rural area of the municipality.
According to the Military Police, the narcotics were being transported in a Volkswagen Santana and in a GM Vectra GLS, which were identified by police teams during the operation.
When the drivers of the two cars noticed the attempt to approach, they abandoned the vehicles and fled on foot towards a forest area.
Police searched and besieged the area in an attempt to locate the suspects. Despite the efforts of the teams, none of the drivers were found.
More than 930 kilos of marijuana are found in vehicles
After the drivers escaped, the police began to monitor the two cars and locate several marijuana bales.
All the material found underwent accounting and weighing procedures, which confirmed the total of 932.8 kilograms of the narcotic.
The amount seized represents more than 930 kilograms of drug that were being transported by the two vehicles at the time of the attempted approach.
The seizure of marijuana in Marilena was carried out by teams of the 3rd Independent Military Police Company, responsible for the action that resulted in the location and collection of the cargo.
Until the closure of the incident, the drivers of the cars had not been located by the police teams.
Vehicles are sent to the police station and drugs are incinerated
After the seizure, the two vehicles used in the transport of marijuana were referred to the 21st Regional Police Station (RDP), where the appropriate legal measures were adopted.
The load of narcotics also passed the procedures provided for this type of occurrence.
According to the information released by the Paraná Military Police, the 932.8 kilograms of marijuana were incinerated after the legal procedures were carried out.
The operation ended with the seizure of the two cars and all the drugs found inside.
No information was released about the identity of the drivers who fled during the approach attempt.
