Police Civil Officer Warns About Risks of Digital Violence Against Children and Adolescents
During his participation, the officer highlighted the importance of prevention and the project that establishes the Municipal Week of Digital Security and Citizenship

The Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa (CMPG) received, during the Free Tribune on Monday (26), the delegate of the Civil Police who works in the Adolescent Police Station of the municipality, Fernando Henrique Ribeiro Vieira. The delegate addressed the risks of digital violence against children and adolescents and highlighted the importance of prevention, especially in the family and school environment.
The participation aimed to contribute to the discussion of the Bill No. 326/2026 presented by the councilor Dr. Zeca (União Brasil), which proposes the creation of the Municipal Week of Security and Digital Citizenship in Ponta Grossa. The initiative seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of the Internet and to guide the population on the safe use of technologies.
During the speech, the delegate reported situations involving sharing of intimate images, threats, blackmail, cyberbullying, and luring minors through social networks, applications, and online games. “Digital violence is not restricted to the screen. She accompanies the victim from school to her home until bedtime. It can cause isolation, psychological distress, fear and, in the most serious cases, suicide,” Fernando warned.
Prevention and guidance to families
The delegate also stressed that the protection of children and adolescents depends on the joint action of the police, families and schools. “We cannot demand that parents protect their children from risks they often themselves are unaware of. We need to teach about parental control tools, reporting mechanisms and ways to identify dangerous situations,” he said.
The project discussed provides lectures, educational campaigns, guidance to families and training of education professionals, in addition to encouraging the approach between schools, public security bodies, the Guardian Council and the Public Ministry. Through these actions, the measure seeks to strengthen the network of protection of children and adolescents in Ponta Grossa, encouraging educational actions to prevent situations of risk in the virtual environment.
In defending the importance of the initiative, Fernando reinforced the collective responsibility in the prevention of digital violence. “If the world has changed, our way of protecting must also change. This responsibility does not belong only to parents, to the school or to the police. It belongs to all of us as a society,” said the delegate.
The draft was approved by the Legislative Assembly in first discussion and is still under discussion in the ordinary session next Wednesday (28).
