Police seize 226 kg of marijuana and two teenagers in Paraná

The Military Police of Paraná (PMPR), through the Border Police Battalion (BPFRON) and the Aviation Command (COMAV), with support from the Federal Revenue, seized 226.7 kilos of marijuana during an integrated action held on Friday (18), in Perobal, in the Northwest of Paraná. Two adolescents, aged 17, were seized for an offence analogous to drug trafficking.

Vehicle was located after complaint

The incident began after the security forces received information about a Hyundai HB20 that was trafficking in a dangerous way on the PR-323.

Ground crews began the search for the vehicle with support from a COMAV aircraft. The car was located in the vicinity of the municipality of Perobal.

During the approach attempt, the driver did not obey the stop order and started a high-speed escape.

Escape ended after collision with ravine

According to the Military Police, during the escape, the driver made overtakings by the sidewalk and transited against the road.

At one point, the driver lost control of the steering, left the track and collided with a ravine.

After the accident, the two occupants abandoned the vehicle and tried to flee through a forest area, but were located by police teams.

Drugs would be taken to Maringá

During the inspection in the vehicle, the police found several bales of marijuana.

In all, 217.2 kilograms of pressed marijuana and 9.5 kilograms of capuchin were seized, totaling 226.7 kilograms of the drug.

To the police, the teenagers informed that the vehicle would have been loaded in Mundo Novo (MS) and that the destination of the cargo would be Maringá, in the Paraná.

The case was referred to the Civil Police

The two teenagers were seized and sent, along with the vehicle and the narcotics, to the Umuarama Civil Police Station.

The Guardian Council followed the presentation of the persons involved to the police authority.
