The Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa analyzes on Monday (21) the Bill 242/2026, authored by the Executive Power, which proposes the creation of the Municipal Program of Artistic Residence in Visual Arts. The proposal is in first discussion during the ordinary session.
According to the House Agenda, the draft has already received an opinion on the admissibility of the Committee on Legislation, Justice and Writing (CLJR). The Committee on Finance, Budget and Oversight (CFOF) and the Committee on Works, Public Services, Transit, Transport, Urban Mobility and Accessibility (COSPTTMUA) also gave favourable opinions.
The creation of the program places the visual arts among the topics under discussion in the legislative agenda of the municipality and provides for the implementation of a specific municipal policy of artistic residency.
Artistic residencies are initiatives aimed at the development of artistic creation and production processes, usually providing participants with the conditions to develop projects and broaden experiences in the field of the arts. However, the Agenda consulted does not detail how the program will be structured in Ponta Grossa, nor does it inform selection criteria, number of vacancies, duration of residences, values of scholarships or which spaces will be used.
