Ponta Grossa Center will have new 'parklet' of 20 m²; see how it will be
Structure will have 2 meters of width by 10 meters of length, will be fully funded by the sponsor and should be installed in up to 60 days
A new 'parklet' in Ponta Grossa will be installed in the city center, in front of number 52 of Marechal Floriano Peixoto Square. The structure will be 2 meters wide by 10 meters long, totaling 20 m2, and will be fully funded by the maintenance company, without municipal investment in the implementation.
The Cooperation Term no 01/2026 was signed between the Research and Urban Planning Institute of Ponta Grossa (Iplan) and the company Kichileski & Antunes Ltda., responsible for the implementation, management and maintenance of the space. The document was published in the Official Journal on Tuesday (29).
The structure is part of the Nossa Vaga municipal program, regulated by Lei Municipal no 12.466/2016. The proposal of the program is to temporarily transform areas previously used by parking vehicles into public spaces of coexistence.
A parklet is a temporary or permanent extension of the sidewalk that transforms one or two parking spaces of cars on the street into a small public space of coexistence and leisure.
Parklet will have 20 square meters
According to information passed on by Iplan to BnT Online, the new equipment will be 2 meters by 10 meters, occupying a total area of approximately 20 square meters. The executive project confirms the 10 meters long and 2 meters wide structure.
The design provides metallic structure combined with wood, as well as furniture for users to stay. Among the elements provided are six fixed wooden tables, 30 individual benches, two benches with capacity for three people each and structures for lighting. The project also provides for tables and benches to be fixed to the structure.
The company will pay for the entire deployment.
Iplan reported that all the investment for construction and installation will be funded by the maintenance company. An estimated value for the implementation was not reported. In addition to assuming the initial cost, the maintainer will also be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment during the term.
The project provides for frequent cleaning, maintenance of installed elements and necessary repairs in cases of vandalism, accidents or damage caused by time. According to the descriptive memorial, the proposal will also prioritize the reuse of materials, including demolition waste wood and scrap metals.
The space will be public and may not be exclusive to the bar
Despite being maintained by a private company, the parklet will be for public use only. The project itself establishes that there may be no restrictions on access or permanence, charging fees, minimum consumption, coverage or any requirement for a person to use the space.
There can also be no obligation to consume in the nearby establishments. The Municipality will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the project and preventing the privatization of public space. The project also provides accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
What will be the new parklet?
The images of the project show a long structure installed parallel to the walk, with a finish that combines wood and metal.
The memorial describes a proposal with architectural elements of rustic and industrial character. The structure will also have its own lighting.
The executive project presented to Iplan also shows the parklet occupying the area next to the curb, keeping the floor aligned to the pavement to ensure access to the space. The technical documentation identifies the enterprise as Parklet Trinka Bar and has responsabilidade técnica by engineer Juarez Alves. The project is linked to the Our Vaga program.
Installation must take place within 60 days
The Cooperation Agreement was signed on 21 September 2026. According to the document, the company has up to 60 days from signing up to complete the installation of the new parklet.
The license will have an initial validity of one year, and may be renewed for the same period. If there is no renewal, the structure must be removed at the end of the term. Questioned by the BnT, Iplan also informed that there are, at this time, no other requests for the implementation of new public parklets under analysis in the municipality. With this, the project of Marechal Floriano Peixoto Square is currently the only new implementation of this type underway with the institute.
