Ponta Grossa City Hall launches special October Pink action for municipal female employees

The Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, through the Municipal Secretariat of Human Resources, promoted, on Thursday (22), a special program in reference to the Outubro Rosa, campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer. The initiative, held at the Gymnasium Borell du Vernay, brought together municipal servants in an afternoon focused on health, self-care and well-being.

With the theme “Their strength begins in care”, the action sought to encourage women to devote more attention to their own health, highlighting the importance of physical and emotional care, especially in the face of routine responsibilities and challenges.

The prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt stressed that to reserve moments to take care of yourself is fundamental to the quality of life of women.

“In the rush of routine, we often forget ourselves. To take care of oneself is not vanity or luxury, it is an act of love and commitment to our life. And we need to remember that, in addition to the body, our mental health also deserves attention. Moments like this help us to reflect on the importance of taking care of ourselves,” said the mayor.

Lectures and wellness activities marked the programming

During the meeting, the participants followed lectures led by the oncologist Dr. Camilla Pelizza and the psychologist Isadora Machinski, who addressed themes related to physical, emotional health and the importance of prevention.

The programming also featured a musical presentation by the Lyra dos Campos Band, as well as integration activities and spaces dedicated to the well-being of the servers.

In partnership with local institutions, stands with information and services in the areas of health, beauty and self-care were made available, providing participants with the opportunity to clarify doubts and know practices to improve the quality of life.

Secretary highlights the importance of welcoming the servants

The municipal secretary of Human Resources, Marilei de Fátima Ferreira Gonçalves, explained that the event was planned to offer the maids a moment of welcome and appreciation.

“This is our message: your strength begins in care. We need to take care of ourselves. We are mothers, housewives, workers, we have so many responsibilities and often we do not look at ourselves. This afternoon was designed so that the waitresses could take time for themselves, ask questions with experts and take advantage of this moment. We want every woman to leave here overflowing with self-care,” he said.

The meeting was closed with a toast draw and a coffee break, promoting fraternization among the participants.

The initiative reinforced the importance of the Outubro Rosa campaign and awareness on the early diagnosis of breast cancer, as well as broadening the debate on mental health and the enhancement of women in the workplace.
