Ponta Grossa Dance Company stands out at festival in Paraná
Ponta Grossa Dance Company participates in festival in Cianorte and presents three shows. Check out the highlights of the event.
The Ponta Grossa Dance Company participated, last weekend (17 and 18 October), in the Festival of Perobas – Cianorte in Dance, held in the Northwest of the Paraná. Invited to the opening of the event, the group presented three shows of its repertoire: Elements, Trajectory of a Life and Awakening.
Maintained by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, the Company brought to the festival productions that explore different themes and languages of dança contemporânea. The participation also contributed to the dissemination of the work of the dancers of Ponta Grossa and to the widening of the cultural exchange with artists and audiences from other regions of the State.
Dance company expands presence in Paraná
For the director of the Company, Joice Aline Jorge, participating in festivals in other municipalities represents an opportunity to present the artistic production developed in Ponta Grossa and conquer new audiences.
“It is very important that we take our shows to other cities, because we have shown to the whole Paraná the artistic work that has been developed in Ponta Grossa. We have sought to broaden the circulation of our stable bodies, creating opportunities for more people to know the quality of our production and the talent of our artists”, stressed Joice.
The municipal secretary of Culture, Alberto Portugal, also stressed the importance of the Company’s participation in cultural events outside the municipality.
“Leading our stable bodies to other municipalities is a way to enhance public investment in culture, expand public access to our artistic production and strengthen the presence of Ponta Grossa in the Paraná cultural scene. They are artists who represent our city and demonstrate the strength of the work carried out by the Secretariat of Culture,” he said.
Three shows marked the presentation
During the festival in Cianorte, the Dance Company of Ponta Grossa presented three works with distinct artistic proposals.
Elements: directed and choreographed by Joice Aline Jorge, the show presents a sensory journey through the origins of the universe and the emergence of life, exploring the elements Sun, Water, Wind and Earth.
Trajectory of a Lifetime: the work honors the singer and composer Milton Nascimento, bringing together music, poetry, memory and emotion. The choreography is signed by Fábio Alcântara, directed by Joice Aline Jorge.
Awakening: directed and choreographed by Joice Aline Jorge, the show proposes a poetic reflection on the human trajectory, the freedom won through knowledge and the construction of a collective consciousness.
Culture of Ponta Grossa gains space in other municipalities
The company’s presence at the Festival of Perobas reinforces the artistic circulation initiatives promoted by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.
In addition to providing new experiences to dancers, presentations outside of Ponta Grossa allow the work developed in the municipality to reach different audiences.
The participation in Cianorte also contributes to strengthening the cultural links between Paraná cities and expand the visibility of local artistic production.
