A long time ago, I don't know, about 30 years ago, Bonifácio Vilela Street was going down and causing a lot of traffic jams. But they were purposeful traffic jams! The cars walked slowly, in queues, just so that their occupants could observe the movement of people.

The muvuca was bigger on the weekends, but, in those days, it didn’t have much of that. There were frequenters from Monday to Monday, or from Sunday to Sunday, as you prefer...

It was that classic script, similar to the famous Bobódromo: loud music, beautiful people, not so beautiful people, young people sitting at tables or parading in their extravagant and luminous sneakers.

There were also the wealthiest and most reserved, usually not so young, but who probably kept the FOREVER YOUNG spirit.

In the end, they all had practically the same goal: to observe the movement or, why not say, to be observed as well.

It was a kind of social network at the time. There, some couples formed, while many other relationships came to an end.

On one side of the street were old and already extinct establishments such as EMPÓRIO, Lopes or Bar da Tiana, Monte Líbano, TEX MEX, among others.

On the right side of those who descended, places like Cocobongo, Prévia, Le Precheau and Bola 8 passed through time.

All of these establishments have existed at different times and not necessarily at the same time, but I’m sure a lot of people will remember at least some of them.

Some may say that the past was better, that that time was good. I don't know if that's true. It might even be!

Once, my father told me that we have this tendency to value so much the old simply because we like to romanticize the period when we were young, fearless, without money in our pockets and with many dreams in our heads.

He was almost always right.

At present, Munich Avenue still has a similar role, but now it rises, it has another hand, another sense, another vibe. Obviously, it's not the same thing anymore.

The times change, and this is part of the natural cycle of evolution and growth of a city. And it's all right!

But the memories, stories and memories were kept forever. Not on any mobile phone, but in that special place where we store the best memories: our memory.

ENJOY YOUR TIME! After all, he is one of the most valuable things we have.

Long live the Rock'n'Roll!
