Ponta Grossa leads the exports of Paraná in 20 product categories and appears in the first position of the national ranking in four of them. The data is from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) and considers foreign sales made between January and September 2026.

The performance places the municipality among the main exporting poles of the State and evidences the strength of sectors linked to the agribusiness, wood, paper and pulp, chemical industry and other industrial segments.

Ponta Grossa is a national leader in four products

According to the data released by the City Hall, Ponta Grossa occupies the first place in Brazil in the export of four groups of products.

The highest value among them is recorded for soybean oil and its fractions, which moved approximately US$ 336.3 million in exports in the period.

Also appear in the national leadership the coated or printed pulp and paper products, with US$ 121.6 million exported.

Next are wood particle boards, responsible for $26.5 million, and quaternary ammonium salts and hydroxides, lecithins and other phosphoaminolipids, with approximately $17.1 million.

Waste from soybean oil production moves more than $500 million

Among the products in which Ponta Grossa leads the ranking of Paraná are the cakes and other solid residues of the extraction of soybean oil.

This group’s exports reached US$ 511.3 million between January and September this year.

According to the calculation presented by the municipal administration, the amount corresponds to approximately R$ 2.58 billion, considering the quote of the dollar on October 14, 2026.

In this segment, Ponta Grossa also has a prominent position in the Brazilian scenario, occupying the third place in the national ranking.

Municipality also stands out in other sectors

The exports of Ponta Grossa are not concentrated only on soy products.

The municipality also occupies the first position in the Paraná in the international marketing of items such as food doughs, rubber conveyor belts, lubricant preparations, polymers and different chemicals.

In some of these categories, local production also appears among the largest in Brazil.

Ponta Grossa is, for example, the second largest exporter of pasta, lubricant preparations and textile floorings.

City Hall highlights strength of local industry

For prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt, the results reflect the diversification of the economy and the presence of competitive companies in the municipality.

“Ponta Grossa has a diversified economy, a strong industry and companies that bring the quality of our production to different markets. These results reinforce the importance of continuing to create conditions for development, job creation and attracting new investments,” he said.

The municipal secretary of Industry, Trade and Professional Qualification, Tônia Mansani, also highlighted the variety of exports.

“Being among the main exporters of Paraná and Brazil in different categories shows the competitiveness of the companies installed in Ponta Grossa. Our job is to continue strengthening the business environment, supporting those who undertake and creating opportunities for the municipality to expand its presence in the international market,” he said.

The figures take into account the exports made between January and September 2026 and are part of the official foreign trade statistics of the MDIC.
