The maximum amount established by the Municipal Secretariat of Health is R$ 3,441,000.00. The dispute between the interested companies is scheduled for November 3, 2026, at 9 am, through the portal Compras.gov.br. The hiring aims to meet the needs of the Municipal Health Department of Ponta Grossa, ensuring the availability of equipment and inputs used in measuring blood glucose levels.
How will the supply of equipment work?
According to the notice announced by the City Hall, the glycometers will be available on a loan basis. This means that the equipment can be used by the municipal administration without there being necessarily the transfer of its property.
The reagent strips, materials used to measure blood sugar, will be provided by the contracted company, according to the conditions provided in the bidding process.
Glucose meters are devices used to check the concentration of glucose in the blood. Monitoring is especially important for people with diabetes, who need to regularly monitor their glycemic levels to guide treatment and prevent complications.
The notice published in the Official Journal does not detail the amount of reagent devices and strips planned for hiring, nor does it inform how many patients may be benefited. This information should be checked in the full notice and its annexes.
Investment can reach R$ 3.44 million
The value of R$ 3,441,000.00 represents the maximum limit provided by the municipal administration for hiring. This does not mean that the amount has already been spent or that the company responsible for the supply has been defined. The final value will depend on the result of the tender, which will allow the submission and contest of proposals by the participating companies.
The procedure will be carried out through the Electronic Pregão no 168/2026, also identified as Pregão no 111/2026 on Compras.gov.br. The public session is scheduled for November 3, at 9 am, when the proposals presented will be analyzed in accordance with the rules of the notice.
Control of diabetes in the public network
Monitoring blood sugar is one of the fundamental measures in the care of patients diagnosed with diabetes. The measurement allows to identify changes in blood sugar levels and assists health professionals in the guidance and monitoring of treatments.
In the public network, the availability of equipment and supplies for this monitoring is important for the continuity of care for patients who need to perform tests regularly.
The hiring announced by the City Council is related to the supply of these materials, although the published notice does not specify how the distribution of the equipment and reagent strips will be carried out among the health units or the patients treated.
Where to consult the bidding?
The companies interested in participating in the process and the citizens who wish to follow the hiring can consult the complete notice and its annexes in the Transparency Portal of the Municipality of Ponta Grossa, in the section of Auctions. It is also possible to obtain information in the Department of Purchases and Contracts of the City Hall, from 8 am to 2 pm, or by phone (42) 3220-1000, branch 4030.
The notice is signed by the municipal secretary of Health, Liliam Cristina Brandalise, and appears on page 19 of the edition no 4727 of the Official Electronic Journal of Ponta Grossa, published on October 20, 2026. The expectation now is for the realization of the electronic pleading, which will define the result of the dispute for the supply of blood glucose monitoring materials to the municipal network.
