Ponta Grossa will have a free show with a journey through Brazilian music this Friday (25)

A free show on Ponta Grossa will take the public a trip through the different sounds of Brazilian music on Friday (25). The Duo Brasilitudes performs at 7 pm, at the Maestro Paulino Conservatory, with a repertoire that travels through cultural manifestations of various regions of Brazil. Admission is free.

Formed by the instrumentalists Anthony Felipe, on the saxophone, and Fernando Bertani, on the seven-string guitar, the duo is on tour for Paraná and Santa Catarina. The show brings together compositions that highlight the diversity of rhythms and traditions of Brazilian popular music.

Repertoire passes through the South, Northeast and Amazon

The public will be able to follow a presentation that goes from the chacarera gaucha to the Amazonian border, through the northeastern forró, the ijexá and the carioca maxixe.

The proposal of the Brasilitudes Duo is to explore the sonic possibilities of the combination between saxophone and seven-string guitar to present different musical styles in the same show.

According to Fernando Bertani, the instrumental training has as its starting point the tradition of regional ensembles of crying, but it is not restricted to a single genre.

“We are not two classic ‘chorões’ and we do not restrict ourselves to samba or some specific genre, but rather we seek to make the most of the simultaneous presence of rhythm, melody and harmony that the formation offers to make this musical journey through Brazilian popular culture,” explains the musician.

Duo explores different styles of Brazilian music

For Anthony Felipe, transiting through different musical manifestations requires that the instrumentalists explore techniques and references of different genres.

“When we propose to present this musical diversity in the show, we assume the responsibility of being hybrid musicians,” he says.

Among the artistic references of the duo are Brazilian musicians such as Hamilton de Holanda and Moacir Santos.

The presentation in Ponta Grossa is part of a tour that seeks to bring to the public different expressions of Brazilian popular culture through instrumental music.

The project is carried out with the encouragement of the Rouanet Law, of the Ministry of Culture, and sponsorship of Paccar Financial. The production is from the Creative Projects Strategy. In the city, the show has the support of Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, through the Municipal Secretariat of Culture.
