Programa Turismo Mais Seguro starts free mentorships in the Campos Gerais

The Safer Tourism Program has begun a new phase in the Campos Gerais with free mentorships aimed at the practical application of the Security Management System (SGS). In total, 20 tourism enterprises in the region were selected to participate in the initiative, developed by the Tourism Development Agency of Campos Gerais (Adetur Campos Gerais) in partnership with Sebrae Paraná.

The new phase of Safer Tourism seeks to strengthen the safety, professionalization and quality of adventure tourism products offered in the region.

In the first stage of the program, held in 2025, participants underwent a theoretical training on the Security Management System, addressing concepts, principles and practices related to prevention and risk management.

Now, the program moves towards practical application, with individualized monitoring of the participating enterprises.

Mentorships will be applied in specific activities

The selection prioritized companies that participated in the training held in 2025, as well as enterprises that have products or activities of adventure tourism considered relevant for the regional tourism development and that already receive visitors.

The work will be directed to the application of SGS in a specific product or activity of each enterprise.

Among the modalities mentioned are hiking, hiking, rappel, zip line, rafting and cycling.

The proposal is to assist companies in organizing internal processes and adopting procedures aimed at managing and preventing risks.

For the president of Adetur Campos Gerais, Guilherme Forbeck, safety is one of the fundamental pillars for the development of nature tourism.

“Security is one of the main pillars for the development of nature tourism. With this stage of mentorships, we want to advance from training to the practical application of the Security Management System, supporting companies in structuring their products and strengthening, jointly, the image of the Campos Gerais as a destination prepared to offer tourist experiences with quality and safety”, he says.

The Safer Tourism Program will continue in 2027

The Safer Tourism will have new stages in 2027, with continuity of the monitoring and development of the Security Management System with the participating enterprises.

The initiative integrates a regional strategy to strengthen nature and adventure tourism, focusing on the qualification of entrepreneurs and the adoption of good practices.

The program also counts on the participation of the prefectures of the region. The manager of tourism projects and creative economy of Sebrae/PR, Nádia Joboji, highlights the articulation between different sectors.

“We are talking about a regional mobilization that brings together different actors with a common goal: to make tourism increasingly prepared, responsible and safe,” he says.

According to her, security also directly influences the experience of visitors to the Campos Gerais.

“Safety is now understood as part of the quality of the tourist experience. The more prepared the entrepreneurs, professionals and attractive, the greater the confidence of those who visit the Campos Gerais”, he adds.

Experience in Palmeira

Manager Claudiane Nascimento dos Santos, from Nascentes do Cercado Ecoturismo, in Palmeira, participated in the Safer Tourism program in 2025.

According to her, the training contributed to improvements related to signage, visitor care and procedures in situations during the trails.

“My venture is in extremely dangerous areas and very difficult trails. I did the course and it helped me with signage, care in case of twisting and approaching the tourist in a unique way,” he reports.

The development offers tours, grocery store, cafeteria and camping.

Schedules follow until September 12

Mentorships will be held on Mondays and Fridays during the months of September and October.

Each company participates free of charge in a four-hour training.

The deadline for scheduling of the participating projects continues until Saturday, September 12.
