The wind gusts at Ponta Grossa gained strength on Friday, amid the advance of a cold front by Paraná. Data from the Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar) meteorological station show that the gusts reached approximately 37 km/h at around 13h.

The graph of Simepar, updated until 16h, points to a significant increase in the intensity of the wind throughout the morning and early afternoon. At around 10 am, the gusts already exceeded 30 km/h, remaining close to this level between 11 am and 12 noon. The highest time recorded in the period occurred at 13:00, when the mark approached 37 km/h.

After the peak, there was a momentary reduction, with gusts close to 28 km/h at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., however, the wind gained strength again, reaching about 34 km/h. In the 4 o'clock record, the gusts were at the home of 23 km/h.

Cold front keeps weather unstable

In addition to the records of the Ponta Grossa station, Simepar reported that the rapid truce observed on Paraná during the morning of Friday does not represent the end of instability. A cold front advances through the state during the afternoon, again favoring the occurrence of rain and gusts of wind in different regions.

For the Campos Gerais, attention remains especially during the passage of the areas of instability. The combination of rain, wind and the possibility of storms requires care, especially in places close to trees, plates, temporary structures and objects that can be displaced by the wind.

The trend indicated by Simepar is that rain continues on Saturday (12) at different points of the Paraná. On Sunday, instability is also expected to remain, although with lower risk for storms in some regions.

Beware of the wind

During periods of gusts, the orientation is to avoid staying under trees and near structures that may fall or fall off. Drivers should also redouble their attention on highways, especially in stretches where side wind can affect larger vehicles.
