Ratinho Junior names 604 police officers in the largest hiring in the history of PCPR

Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior on Tuesday signed the appointment of 604 more civilian police officers to strengthen the corporation’s statewide framework. There will be 484 judicial police officers, 40 papiloscopists and 80 delegates approved in a public tender held in 2021. The reinforcement in the staff consolidates the year 2025 with the largest hiring in the history of the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR).

“Our Civil Police already stand out for the high rate of crime resolution, which puts us at the lowest level of crime in recent years. When we took over the government, we reorganized all our police forces and now, with this historical reinforcement in the Civil Police, the goal is to offer even more security to the people of Paraná, with an increasingly rapid response to crime”, highlighted Ratinho Junior.

In June, Ratinho Junior announced the hiring of 620 civilian police officers, 604 of whom were appointed on Tuesday and another 16 are expected to be called soon. The 484 judicial police officers will be distributed in the regions of Curitiba and Metropolitana, as well as the interior, as well as the 40 papiloscopists. The 80 delegates will be crowded in several cities.

They will act directly in the investigation of crimes, the production of flagrant crimes, the conduct of investigations, the execution of operations, papiloscopic expertise and the interlocution with the judiciary. The objective is to expedite care and procedures in flagrante plants, districts, regional and specialized police stations.

“This is an emblematic moment for Paraná’s public security. The appointment of these new civilian police officers represents the strengthening of the criminal investigation, the qualified response to crime and the presence of the State in all regions. The performance of governador Ratinho Junior has guaranteed structure, appreciation and result,” reinforced the Secretary of State for Public Security, Hudson Teixeira.

For PCPR General Delegate Silvio Jacob Rockembach, the new appointments will be reflected in greater responsiveness and investigative capacity. “This is another concrete delivery for the strengthening of the Civil Police of the Paraná. In terms of results, what we visualize are more completed investigations, more solved crimes and faster responses to the population,” he said.

The estimated financial impact with the hirings in 2025 is about R$ 43.9 million, with the annual cost being R$ 108.6 million. The investment is possible thanks to the good economic moment of the State that made it possible for the budget of the State Secretariat of Public Security (Sesp) to almost double, going from R$ 3.8 billion to R$ 7 billion this year.

The new police officers are expected to start the training course at the Higher School of Civil Police in August, with the expected completion later this year so that they can begin work in police stations in December. The allocation of each server will be defined only at the end of the training.

MAJOR IN HISTORY

In 2025 alone, the Paraná Government has hired 730 civilian police officers, setting up the largest staff renewal in the history of PCPR. All new servers were approved in the 2021 public tender. In addition to the 604 appointed on Tuesday, in January 126 police officers, including 106 judicial police officers, 12 delegates and eight police papiloscopists took office, with the graduation of this group in May.

Until then, the largest hiring for PCPR had been in 2022, when 400 agents took office, which ensured the presence of delegates in all 161 counties of the state. During the entire management of governador Ratinho Junior, which began in 2019, 1,624 new civilian police officers were incorporated, including 1,217 judicial police officers, 285 delegates and 122 papiloscopists.
