Requião Filho says he will wait for the result with 'Netflix and iFood'
The candidate for the government of the Paraná Requião Filho (PDT) said on Sunday that he intends to spend the next hours in a quiet way while awaiting the result of the first round of the 2026 elections. After voting in Curitiba, he joked that the programming will have Netflix and iFood.
Requião Filho voted in the Batel neighborhood, in the Paraná capital, and spoke with journalists about the expectation for the count. The candidate also questioned the polls released during the campaign.
Asked how he intends to follow the next few hours, Requião Filho replied in a relaxed tone that he will stay at home and cited Netflix and the possibility of ordering food for iFood.
Despite the relaxation, the candidate showed confidence in moving on to the next stage of the dispute for Iguaçu Palace. The expectation of reaching the second round, however, represents an evaluation of the candidate himself and depends on the result of the polls.
The last Quaest poll before the election, released on Saturday (3), showed Requião Filho and Sandro Alex (PSD) technically tied in second place. Considering only the valid votes, Sergio Moro (PL) had 43%, Sandro Alex appeared with 29% and Requião Filho with 27%. The reported margin of error was two percentage points.
During the interview, Requião Filho criticized the role of election surveys in the campaign. In his assessment, polls can influence the behavior of voters and the issue should be reviewed by electoral legislation.
The different institutes presented different numbers in the final straight of the election. A Paraná Pesquisas survey, released on September 28, for example, pointed to Requião Filho with 23.6% and Sandro Alex with 21.5%, also in a technical tie.
The polls represent portraits of the intention to vote in the period in which the interviews are conducted and do not replace the official result of the polls.
Requião Filho also took advantage of the interview to encourage attendance at the polls on Sunday, including in the regions of Paraná where rain marks the voting day.
The candidate stated that the choice should be made based on the proposals presented during the campaign and asked for the attention of the voters to the political scenario and the polls published.
In case of advance to the second round, Requião Filho stated that he intends to resume the campaign immediately, with meetings and reorganization of the team for the new stage of the dispute.
The vote on Sunday will determine whether the election for the Paraná government will be closed in the first round or will go to a new vote.
