Residents of Rua São José, in the Uvaranas neighborhood, in Ponta Grossa, denounce the precarious conditions of the road, which presents holes, pits and circulation difficulties. The situation, recorded in the vicinity of the 13th BIB, near the corner with the Carlos Cavalcanti Street, has caused disturbances and damages for those who live in the region.

According to reports sent to Portal BnT Online, the street is in conditions that make it difficult even for residents to leave their own residences. Vehicles get stuck, drivers face risks while driving and motorcyclists would have already suffered falls at the site.

Resident reports losses and accident risk

One of the residents says that he faces constant difficulties to leave the house with the car, mainly because of the bilges that formed on the road.

“Every time I have to go out with the car, almost hood. It's only on three wheels. I broke the bumper three times trying to go down the street to get home,” he said.

The problems worsened during the month of September, when there were episodes involving ungoverned vehicles, blocked trucks and damage to infrastructure.

The resident also claims that several motorcycle deliverymen suffered falls while trying to pass through the street. He reports that he has been able to assist some victims, but does not have records of all the occurrences.

Damaged pipes and truck jammed

In addition to circulation problems, residents report damage to the water supply system and sewage system.

According to the complaint, a truck would have jammed on the road and, during the withdrawal attempt, fell into a valley, causing the rupture of a sewage pipe.

In another situation, the resident states that Sanepar needed to make repairs to the water pipe of his residence on two occasions, after damages that would have been caused by ungoverned vehicles during the descent.

Maintenance would have lasted only ten days

According to the report sent to the report, the last maintenance performed with machines in São José Street occurred on August 27, 2026.

However, according to the residents, the service presented results for approximately ten days. With the return of the rains, the road would have returned to present holes and gullies.

"The last time the machine passed was on August 27 and lasted only ten days. With the first rain, everything is over again," the complainant said.

He also reported that complaints have already been forwarded to Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, although he did not present the protocol number to the report.

According to the report, a resident of the same street would have suffered a fall, if injured and submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecutor due to the conditions of the road. The information was not independently confirmed.

Selective collection would also have been harmed

The precariousness of the street would also be compromising essential services.

According to the whistleblower, the pick-up truck was almost three weeks without passing through the site. The service would have resumed on Monday (19).

Residents say that, given the conditions of the road, some families need to leave their vehicles parked and carry out part of the journeys on foot.

"Whoever has a car goes on foot, because the cars do not go out. If they do, they will be in a state of aggravation,” the resident said.

Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa is wanted

The Portal BnT Online approached the Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa to request clarifications on the conditions of the São José Street, the complaints of the residents and the existence of forecasts for new maintenance services, patrol, graveling and improvements in drainage.

The report also questioned the municipal administration about possible measures to ensure the safety of residents and the circulation of vehicles and essential services.

By the close of this matter, Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa had not forwarded a response. The space remains open for demonstration.
