Rick is missing after a helicopter lost contact during a flight between Santa Catarina and São Paulo on Monday. The artist, known for forming the duo Rick and Renner, was on the plane along with businessman Bruno Avelar, who was also not located so far.
According to information released by the singer's press office, the disappearance was confirmed after the loss of communication with the helicopter. Before the incident, Rick posted on social media images of the moment he boarded the aircraft next to the businessman.
The helicopter had left Santa Catarina for the São Paulo capital when it stopped transmitting contact signals. Authorities were triggered and search and rescue teams began work to try to locate the aircraft.
The Santa Catarina Fire Department reported that it received an occurrence related to the possible fall of a helicopter in the region in the same period in which there was the loss of contact with the aircraft occupied by the singer and the businessman.
Until the last update, there was no official confirmation about the exact location of the helicopter or the conditions of the occupants. About 20 rescuers were mobilized to act in the search, following the last known point of communication of the equipment.
Weather conditions are also considered a factor that may have influenced the aircraft’s movement. The region was experiencing heavy rain and strong winds at the time the helicopter lost contact.
