The situation is of particular concern to residents living near the shores of Rio Tibagi. In the image recorded in Uvaia, it is possible to observe that the water advanced through a large area of a property and has already come very close to the buildings.
Water advances on properties in Uvaia
As the river level rises, lower points close to the Tibagi begin to suffer the first impacts. In some properties, water already occupies areas used by residents and moves towards the residences.
So far, there is no confirmed information about how many homes were hit or whether there was a need for evacuation of residents. There is also no information, until the publication of this article, about people injured due to the elevation of the river.
The recommendation is for residents of areas close to the Tibagi to follow the movement of water and avoid staying in flooded points, especially in the face of the possibility of a new level rise.
Residents must redouble their attention
Anyone who notices rapid water advancement or risk to homes should seek a safe place and trigger emergency organs. The Fire Department can be called by phone 193, while situations related to the Defesa Civil can be communicated by 199.
The scenery in the district of Uvaia demands attention in the coming hours, especially for families living in lower areas and close to the bed of the Rio Tibagi.
