RodoFut7 beats Argentine team and advances undefeated to Libertadores quarters

RodoFut7 finished the qualifying phase of the Copa Libertadores Rey de Las Americas 2026 with 100% of the participation. The Ponta Grossa team won Argentina’s Selección La Vendetta 2-0 on Friday (4) in Florianópolis (SC) and secured direct spots in the competition’s quarter-finals.

The highlight of the match was again Marlon, who scored the two goals of RodoFut7. With the result, the Ponta Grossa team closed the first phase with three wins in three games, nine goals scored and only one goal suffered.

Perfect campaign

RodoFut7's career in the Libertadores began with a 5-1 victory over the Prevenir Association, from Monte Carmelo (MG). In the debut, Marlon, Canindé, Mendes, Christian and Biel swing the nets for the team.

In the second round, the representative of Ponta Grossa kept the good performance and beat the Joinville, of Santa Catarina, by 3 to 0. The result left RodoFut7 in a favorable situation in the direct qualifying dispute for the quarter-finals.

At the end of the first phase, the team faced Selección La Vendetta of Argentina. Marlon was decisive again and scored the two goals of the victory 2-0.

With three wins, RodoFut7 ends the qualifying phase with 100% of the score, nine goals scored and only one suffered.

Direct strike on Wednesdays

The campaign gives RodoFut7 an important advantage in the wake of the competition. As it has advanced directly to the quarter-finals, the team will not need to play the octaves and will have a period for physical recovery and preparation for the next phase.

The next match is scheduled for Sunday (6), at 19:45, for the quarter-finals. The opponent will be defined in the confrontation between Selectivo Pro, from Uruguay, and Joinville.

The direct classification allows the technical committee to manage the recovery of the athletes after the intense sequence of the qualifying phase and prepare the team for the decisive stage of the Libertadores.

RodoFut7 reaches the undefeated quarter-finals, with three wins in three games, nine goals scored and only one suffered, consolidating one of the outstanding campaigns in the qualifying phase of the international competition.
