RodoFut7 wins Libertadores vice title after standout campaign
RodoFut7 is vice-champion of the Libertadores Rey de Las Américas after a 5-2 defeat to Barão de Mauá in Florianópolis.

RodoFut7 is runner-up of the Libertadores Rey de Las Americas. The Ponta Grossa team was beaten by Barão de Mauá 5-2 in the grand final, played on Monday (7), in Florianópolis, and ended the competition with a prominent campaign.
The opponent started the decision better and opened 2-0 in the first few minutes. Even in disadvantage, RodoFut7 reacted and managed to seek the draw even in the first half.
Canindé scored the team's first goal and Marlon swings the nets in a sequence, leaving the scoreboard 2-2 before the break.
In the second stage, the confrontation remained balanced in the first minutes, but Barão de Mauá returned to take control of the game in the final straight.
The team scored two goals in a row and expanded the lead. In the last minute, he scored the fifth goal and confirmed the victory by 5 to 2 and the title of the competition.
Campaign in the Libertadores
Despite the defeat in the decision, RodoFut7 closes the Libertadores with one of the best campaigns of its history.
The team started the competition with 100% of use in the qualifying phase. In the debut, he won the Prevenir Association of Minas Gerais, by 5 to 1, with goals from Marlon, Canindé, Mendes, Christian and Biel.
In the second round, the representative of Ponta Grossa kept the good performance and overtook Joinville by 3 to 0.
The third game ended with a 2-0 victory over Argentina’s Selección La Vendetta with two goals from Marlon.
With three consecutive victories, RodoFut7 secured direct qualification to the quarter-finals.
Goleada on Wednesdays
In the next phase, the team from Ponta Grossa faced the Selectivo Liga Pro, from Uruguay, and gave no chance to the opponent.
RodoFut7 won 4 to 0, with goals from Marlon, Bessa, Canindé and Messias, ensuring presence among the four best teams in the competition.
Semi-final decided on our shootouts
In the semifinal, RodoFut7 faced Araguari Fut7 in a balanced confrontation.
After a 2-2 draw in the regular time, with goals from Marlon and TH, the decision of the spot went to the shootouts.
The goalkeeper Cassio had decisive participation and helped RodoFut7 to win 2 to 1 in the collections. Matheus Martins converted the attempt that confirmed qualifying for the final.
For his performance, Cassio was voted the best player of the semi-final.
RodoFut7 finishes the competition with only one defeat
In all, the Ponta Grossa team played six games in the Libertadores Rey de Las Américas.
There were four victories, one draw and only one defeat, precisely in the decision against Barão de Mauá.
In addition to the collective campaign, players such as Cássio, Canindé and Marlon were among the main highlights of RodoFut7 during the competition.
Even without the title, the vice-championship consolidates the participation of the club from Ponta Grossa among the main highlights of the Libertadores edition.
