Drivers who use the ticket should be aware of the following interdiction periods on Thursday (22):
Morning: from 9:30 to 11:00;
Afternoon: from 13:30 to 16:00.
During these intervals, the orientation is to use alternative routes and redouble care when circulating through the streets near the tunnel.
Tunnel reopened just three days after revitalization works
The new blockages come just days after the release of traffic in the San Martin Tunnel, which occurred on Monday (19), after a series of structural improvements.
The passage, located under the railway line and responsible for connecting the San Martin Core to the rest of the Neves neighborhood, underwent interventions to improve circulation conditions and reduce historical problems related to water accumulation.
Among the main improvements made is the replacement of the old asphalt pavement by concrete, a material considered more resistant to the conditions of the passage.
A new underground drainage system was also implemented, developed to facilitate the drainage of rainwater and increase the durability of the structure.
The work was conducted by the Municipal Secretariat of Public Services, with the participation of Sanepar in interventions in water and sewage networks.
Improvements in the San Martin Tunnel have not yet been completed
Despite the reopening for the vehicles, the City had already informed that other stages of improvements would be carried out on site.
In addition to the washing and cleaning services planned for this Thursday, the previously disclosed planning includes installation of gutters, improvements in signage, painting and lighting deployment.
These interventions are part of the process of revitalization of the passageway, used daily by residents of the San Martin Center and other localities in the Neves region.
The City Council reinforces the importance of drivers respecting the blockages and planning their trips to avoid disturbances.
