Sandro Alex reaches 20% and ties with Requião Filho for second place

Sandro Alex (PSD) reached 20% of the voting intentions for the government of Paraná and tied with Requião Filho (PDT) in second position, according to Quaest poll released on Thursday (24). Sergio Moro (PL) leads with 36%. The survey was commissioned by the PRC and heard 804 voters between September 20 and 23.

In the August round of the same institute, Moro had 37%, Requião Filho appeared with 21% and Sandro Alex registered 15%. Thus, the candidate supported by governador Ratinho Junior (PSD) advanced five percentage points in a month. The numerical distance between Sandro Alex and Moro increased from 22 to 16 points in this interval. In April, when Sandro Alex had 5% and Moro, 35%, the difference was 30 points.

The percentages put Sandro Alex and Requião Filho tied in second place; the research does not point to an advantage of one over the other. Among the other candidates, Luiz França (Missão), Tayná Miessa (Unidade Popular) and Alexandre Salomão (Mobiliza) registered 1% each. The undecided number adds up to 12%, and 9% declared blank, null or said they would not vote.

Second-round scenarios

In the second-round simulations reported by the survey, Moro appears with 43% against 29% of Sandro Alex. In August, the percentages were 48% and 19%, respectively. The number difference between the two fell from 29 to 14 points.

In a dispute between Sandro Alex and Requião Filho, the PSD candidate registers 38%, against 32% of the PDT candidate. As the reported margin of error is three percentage points to more or less, the result of this scenario should be read with caution. Second-round simulations show the intention stated by the respondents at the time of the survey; they do not anticipate the result of the election.

Rejection and evaluation by the government

According to the data presented, Sandro Alex has 19% rejection, compared to 35% of Moro and 45% of Requião Filho. The survey also indicates that 79% of the respondents approve of the management of Ratinho Junior, while 12% disapprove and 9% did not know or did not respond. The Governor’s support is a data relevant to the Sandro Alex campaign, but the management’s approval does not automatically translate into votes for its candidate.

The September Quaest poll was conducted with 804 voters aged 16 years or older, between the 20th and 23rd. The reported margin of error is three percentage points, with a confidence level of 95%. The withdrawal is registered in Justiça Eleitoral under the number PR-02802/26.
