Sanepar will conduct smoke tests on the sewage network in Carambeí; understand
Smoke tests on the sewage network in Carambeí will be carried out by Sanepar between September 15 and 17. See the neighborhoods and how it works.

The Sanitation Company of Paraná (Sanepar) will conduct smoke tests on the sewage network in Carambeí between this Tuesday (15) and Thursday (17). Initially, the teams will inspect the Eldorado and Jardim Brasília neighborhoods to identify possible problems in pipes and sewage connections.
According to the company, the work is part of a preventive action and may later be extended to other regions of the city. The guidance is so that residents do not get frightened if they notice smoke coming out of certain points during the inspections.
The procedure used is considered safe and is part of the routine activities carried out by Sanepar to evaluate the integrity of the sewage collection system.
How smoke tests work
During the smoke tests on the sewage network in Carambeí, professionals use a device known as a thermonebulizer. The appliance injects a steam into the Visiting Wells (PVs) or directly into the connecting branches of the buildings.
The smoke used in the procedure is non-toxic. According to Sanepar, the product does not pose a risk to human health, pets or the meio ambiente.
The technique allows professionals to more accurately locate breaks, cracks, infiltrations and other situations that may compromise the proper functioning of the sewage system.
It is also possible to identify irregular rainwater connections in the sewage collection network.
Smoke may indicate problem in pipe
When there is any crack, inadequate connection or other type of irregularity, smoke injected into the pipe may appear at the point where there is need for preventive or corrective maintenance.
When the network is intact and functioning correctly, the steam remains in the system and does not appear in improper places.
The measure allows Sanepar to have a more accurate indication of the points that need to be inspected or repaired, reducing the need for unnecessary interventions on the streets or in real estate.
Initially, the work will be concentrated in the Eldorado and Jardim Brasília neighborhoods, but the company informs that the inspections may reach other regions of Carambeí.
