Santa Casa de Ponta Grossa gathers over 900 people at the 5th edition of the Desfile do Bem
Santa Casa de Ponta Grossa gathers 900 people and about 100 oncology patients at the 5th edition of the Desfile do Bem, marked by emotion and overcoming.

The Santa Casa de Ponta Grossa gathered about 900 people on Saturday (24) during the 5th edition of the Parade of Good, an event alluding to the Outubro Rosa and Blue November campaigns, which reinforce the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of breast and prostate cancers. More than a parade, the initiative transformed the catwalk into a space for celebrating life, courage and overcoming, with the participation of approximately 100 cancer patients.
With the theme “The five senses”, this year’s edition provided a sensory experience to guests, showing that the most striking memories are also built through small details and human connections.
The experience began with the smell, with the release of a fragrance specially chosen for the occasion, with the purpose of creating an affective memory that could be rescued whenever the participants felt that scent again. The palate was represented by chocolate, symbolizing the sweet moments of life, while the touch gained meaning in a collective embrace that moved the presents.
The audition was marked by the music of Almir Sater, performed at a time of integration with the singer Fernandinha, who led the guests in a choir. The vision was due to a theater of shadows prepared especially for the opening of the event. The presentation depicted the trajectory of an oncological patient, from diagnosis to treatment, highlighting the reception of health professionals and the importance of care throughout each stage. The staging prepared the audience for the most awaited moment of the night: the entrance of the patients on the catwalk.
Each participant took with them a unique story, marked by challenges and determination. Under the emotional eyes of the guests, the patients paraded their vitality and the strength of those who move forward even in the face of the difficulties imposed by the disease.
For the provider of Santa Casa de Ponta Grossa, Juarez Antonio Carvalho, the success of the event represents the strength of collective work and the importance of looking at the patient beyond diagnosis.
“To see more than 900 people gathered to celebrate the lives and histories of these patients is a source of great joy and pride for all of us. The Parade of Good shows that care goes far beyond medical treatment: it involves welcoming, respect, affection and the appreciation of each person. Every patient who walked into that walkway taught us a lesson in courage and determination. The success of this edition is the result of the involvement of many people who believe that we can also transform lives through love and solidarity,” Juarez said.
The Parade of Good integrates the initiatives of Santa Casa aimed at humanizing care and enhancing the value of cancer patients. By promoting moments of integration and recognition, the event reinforces the importance of an assistance that considers not only the disease, but also the history, feelings and dignity of each person.
The institution thanks all the patients, family, partners, supporters, volunteers and professionals involved in the realization of the 5th edition of the Parade of Good, who contributed to transform the night into a celebration of hope and love of life.
