Santa Casa prepares ICU expansion
In addition to the new Chemotherapy Center, the institution also works on expanding the care capacity at the Central Hospital.
According to Juarez Carvalho, another 20 beds of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are planned. The expansion represents a new stage in the hospital structuring of the Santa Casa, which has been developing projects aimed at increasing the service capacity and modernizing its spaces.
Two ready-to-use units will also be refurbished.
The package informed by the provider also includes the reform of two ready attendances and improvements in the reception unit. These interventions are part of a contract with the Department of Health in the amount of approximately R$ 10.5 million, as informed by Juarez Carvalho to BnT Online.
The intention is to make adjustments in different areas of the hospital, improving both the care spaces and the structure of reception of patients.
Call for companies should come out in the next few days
Another novelty is that, according to the provider, in the coming days a call for companies interested in implementing the reforms should be released. This step should allow the advancement of the interventions planned for the different sectors.
In the case of the old Evangelical Hospital, the priority will be the adaptation of the space to receive the new Chemotherapy Center. The expectation of Santa Casa is that, with the completion of the works, it will be possible to expand and reorganize the oncological care offered to patients of Ponta Grossa and region.
Santa Casa will also be expected to disclose, in the next stages, the technical details of the works, the specific execution schedules and the hiring of the companies responsible for the services.
