SESTUR 2026 opens registrations for talks and night walk in Ponta Grossa
SESTUR 2026 takes place from October 6 to 9, with talks, photography workshop, panel discussion and practical activities. Registrations start at R$ 40.
The SESTUR 2026 (Semana de Estudos Turísticos) of the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), will be held between October 6 and 9, with a program focused on adventure tourism and observation tourism in Campos Gerais. The event will feature lectures, a short photography course, a round table, presentation of academic papers and a night walk in the Vila Velha State Park, in Ponta Grossa. Applications are now open, with prices starting at R$ 40.
The program will bring together tourism professionals, photographers, representatives of tourist attractions of the region and students of the Tourism course of the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG).
Among the main highlights are the discussions on safety in adventure tourism, the tourist potential of the Campos Gerais, the night sky photography and the experiences of students of the UEPG in the Tamar Project, in Fernando de Noronha.
The closure will take place on October 9, with a night walk in the Parque Vila Velha, accompanied by astronomer Matheus Frare.
First day will have a lecture on security in adventure tourism and a short course on photography
The official opening of SESTUR 2026 takes place on Tuesday, October 6, at 9 am.
Then, at 9:30 a.m., speaker Dartilene de Souza e Silva will present a lecture on security equipment in adventure tourism. The activity is scheduled to end at 11am.
The meeting will address one of the fundamental aspects for the realization of adventure tourist activities: the use of security equipment.
In the afternoon, from 2 pm, the photographer Sérgio Mendonça will teach the short course "Photography of the Night Sky: techniques and seasonality".
The activity will last approximately two and a half hours, with closure scheduled for 16:30. The mini-course has specific registration, in the value of R$ 10, and is intended exclusively for people who are enrolled in SESTUR 2026. Participation is optional.
Adventure tourism in the Campos Gerais will be theme of a round table
On Wednesday, October 7th, the schedule begins at 9am, with a round table on the potential of adventure tourism in the Campos Gerais.
The activity will have as one of the objectives to discuss the opportunities of the segment in the region and demystify the perception that adventure activities are necessarily dangerous. Among the confirmed participants are Guilherme Forbeck, representative of the Refuge of Curucacas, and Arandy, representative of Parque Vila Velha.
The organization also awaits the confirmation of Álvaro Fernandes, representative of the Nature Park Buraco do Padre. The round table is scheduled to end at 10:45.
Soon after, at 11 am, a poster session will begin with presentation of academic papers. The activity will continue until noon.
Photography and Tamar Project will be highlighted on the third day
The programme of Thursday, October 8, will be dedicated to experiences related to observation tourism and the participation of students in projects focused on environmental conservation.
At 9 a.m., photographer Maurício Guartelá will present a lecture about his professional experiences and the influence of photography and observation on tourism. The activity will last approximately one hour.
Afterwards, at 10:15, the former students of the Tourism course of UEPG Camilli Vaz and Yonara Cheres will share their experiences in the Tamar Project, in Fernando de Noronha.
The Tourism course of UEPG maintains a partnership with the project, which allows the selection of fourth-year students to participate in the activities developed on the island. During the lecture, Camilli and Yonara will present reports on their participation in the project and the experiences acquired during the period. Closing is scheduled for 11:15.
Night walk at Parque Vila Velha closes SESTUR 2026
The closing of the Tourism Studies Week will take place on Friday, October 9, with a night walk in the Vila Velha State Park, one of the main tourist attractions of Ponta Grossa. The activity will start at 6pm and will close between 9:45pm and 10pm.
The visit will be guided by the astronomer Matheus Frare, providing participants with an observation experience during the night.
The walk will also be open to the participation of people who are not registered in SESTUR 2026. The entrance to the activity costs R$ 90, and the places are limited.
For students of UEPG, transportation to the park will be available. The benefit is exclusive to students of the university. The other participants must make the trip on their own.
How much does it cost to participate in SESTUR 2026?
Registrations for the Week of Tourism Studies are open, with values that vary according to the date of payment. Those who make the registration by October 2 will pay R $ 40.
From October 3, the value will be R $ 50. The night sky photography mini-course, which will take place on the first day of the event, has an additional fee of R$ 10.
To participate in the mini-course, it is necessary to be registered in SESTUR, but the activity is optional.
The night walk at Parque Vila Velha will have a ticket of R$ 90 and can be carried out by any interested person, regardless of registration in the main event.
The organization informs that the walk has limited spaces. Applications can be made via Google form.
