The Friday at Six in Ponta Grossa will have this Friday (2) the first presentation of bands and artists classified for the 2026 edition of the project. The program takes place at Parque Ambiental, with a show by Gui Augustto at 1.30pm and the band Codeine at 7.45pm.

The project is carried out by Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, through the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, and continues with weekly presentations until December. The official opening of this year’s edition took place on Friday, September 25, with a special presentation by the Lyra dos Campos Band. Now, the program receives the selected artists to integrate the schedule of shows.

Friday at Six follows until December

Created to make room for different musical styles, Friday at Six seeks to disseminate and encourage the musical production of Ponta Grossa.

In addition to providing presentations to the public, the proposal is to promote the exchange between the artists of the city and expand the contact of local musicians with the people of Ponta Grossa.

The program will continue until December, with two local attractions per week.

Gui Augustto mixes pop, R&B, soul and hip hop

One of the artists this Friday is Gui Augustto, singer, composer and performer who transits through styles such as pop, R&B, soul and hip hop.

Among his references are names such as Michael Jackson, James Brown and Tim Maia. The artist also has a trajectory linked to music, dance and theater and has participated in different cultural projects in the Campos Gerais.

The presentation of 2026 marks the fourth consecutive year of Gui Augustto on Friday at Six, after also participating in the editions of 2023, 2024 and 2025. The musician also has authored tracks and live sessions available on digital platforms and participates in initiatives related to the diffusion of urban and peripheral culture in Ponta Grossa.

Codeine presents a tribute to Morphine

The band Codeine, formed in 2019, presents a work inspired by the North American band Morphine. The group explores the sound of so-called Low Rock, characterized by heavy grooves, striking riffs and an unconventional instrumental formation, composed of drums, baritone saxophone and two-string bass played with slide.

Codeine is formed by Gustavo Mayer on bass; Nicolas Salazar on saxophone; and Vinicius Pacheco on drums.

The musicians have an academic background in the musical area and the group has already performed in cities such as Curitiba, Florianópolis and Londrina, as well as sharing stages with names from the independent national scene.

This Friday's schedule takes place at Parque Ambiental:

- 6:30 p.m. – Codeine
