Soldier Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Armored Vehicle in Ponta Grossa
Military Had Left Leg Crushed During Activity at 13th Mechanized Infantry Battalion; Emergency Teams Provided Care and Victim Was Transported by Helicopter

A soldier was seriously injured in an accident involving an armored vehicle during training on Monday morning, in the premises of the 13th Armored Infantry Battalion (13th BIB), at Ponta Grossa.
According to the information obtained by the BnT Online, the military suffered a serious injury to the left leg, which was eventually crushed by the armored vehicle during the military activity.
Firefighters, Siate and Samu teams were activated to respond to the incident. The soldier was still stabilized at the scene and, given the severity of the picture, he needed to be referred to hospital care by means of aerial rescue.
So far, no official details have been released about the military's identity, age or current health status after transferring to the hospital.
Accident happened during training
The accident occurred within the area used by the 13th BIB for military training activities. The exact dynamics of how the soldier ended up being hit by the armored vehicle has not yet been publicly clarified.
The determination of the circumstances of the accident must indicate how the movement of the vehicle took place and what procedures were carried out at the time of the incident.
Relationship with the 5th Brigade
The 13th Armored Infantry Battalion is part of the structure of the 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade, one of the main military organizations based in Ponta Grossa.
Official Army documents identify the 13th BIB as a military organization linked to the 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade. The Brigade has other military units in the region and exercises a strategic role in the structure of the Exército Brasileiro in the South of the country.
