State officially finalizes closure of school in Ponta Grossa Center

The Secretary of State for Education of Paraná (Seed-PR) officially closed the activities of the Elite School Curitiba Unida Ponta Grossa, located at Avenida Vicente Machado, no 29, in the central region of Ponta Grossa. The measure is contained in Resolution No. 5.081/2026, published in the Official Gazette of the State, and establishes retroactive effects as of January 1, 2025.

The decision formalizes the closure of the educational activities of the institution and determines the revocation of its accreditation with the state education system. This means that the college no longer has authorization to function as a state-accredited educational institution.

It is important to note that the publication does not mean that the school has closed its doors now. The resolution officially establishes the cessation of activities with effect from the beginning of 2025, regularizing the administrative situation of the unit before the Secretariat of Education.

School papers will be under the responsibility of another institution

One of the main points of the resolution is the definition of the responsibility for the custody of the school documentation of the former students. According to the act published by the Government of Paraná, the records of the Elite Curitiba Unida College Ponta Grossa will be under the responsibility of the Professor César Prieto Martinez Education Institute, also located in Ponta Grossa.

Determination is important to ensure the preservation of the academic records of those who studied at the institution, especially documents necessary to prove their schooling. Among the documents that can be sought by alumni are school records, proof of completion of studies and other records referring to the educational trajectory.

What changes with the definitive closure?

The definitive cessation is an administrative procedure that formalizes the end of the activities of an educational institution before the bodies responsible for education. In addition to withdrawing the accreditation of the unit, the process establishes measures related to the conservation of the school collection, allowing former students to continue having access to the records of their training.

In the case of the Elite College Curitiba Unida Ponta Grossa, the resolution determines that the measure will take effect from January 1, 2025. The publication does not inform, in the data presented, the reasons that led to the closure of the institution’s activities.
