Stolen car involved in accident and driver dies in shootout in Paraná
Prisma and Hyundai i30 with theft alert were involved in a collision. No one was injured, but the driver of the stolen car fled and exchanged gunfire with the police.
An accident recorded on Sunday afternoon (27), in the PRC-487, ended in armed confrontation and death in the region of the municipality of Pitanga. The incident took place around 3.30 p.m., at kilometer 275, on the stretch between Manoel Ribas and Nova Tebas.
According to the State Highway Police (PRE), a GM Prisma vehicle with pinion plates, which followed in the direction Nova Tebas to Manoel Ribas, cross-collided with a Hyundai i30 with Joinville (SC) plates, which came in the opposite direction.
The Prisma was occupied by two people - a 39-year-old man driving the vehicle and a 32-year-old woman, both of whom were not injured.
The Hyundai i30, which had a burglary alert, was driven by an unidentified man. He was not injured in the accident either, but abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot shortly after the collision.
The suspect then engaged in an armed confrontation with a ROTAM team of the 4th Cia of the BPRv and died on the spot.
Prism was released to the person responsible for removal. The Hyundai i30 was picked up by the winch of the 3rd Cia of Pitanga and referred to the Civil Police Station of Manoel Ribas for the appropriate measures.
