Storm and cold front bring new weather patterns to Ponta Grossa and region
Forecast indicates heavy rain, risk of hail and temperature drops; alerts cover Thursday and Friday

The forecast of storms in the Paraná indicates new instabilities with the evolution of an atmospheric system that should give rise to an extratropical cyclone and a cold front. According to information from Meteored and the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the phenomena should form by Friday (16), maintaining favorable conditions for rain and falling temperatures.
Inmet issued storm warnings for Wednesday (14) and Thursday (15). According to the information released, the entire territory of Paraná is under yellow warning, while part of the state also appears in orange warning areas, which indicates greater intensity of the phenomena.
How the system should change time
According to Meteored, a meteorological excavation already operates on Wednesday. This system favors the formation of instability and should evolve into an extratropical cyclone, with an associated cold front. Atmospheric circulation also contributes to transporting moisture to the South of Brazil, expanding the conditions for intense and stormy rains.
On Thursday, the forecast points to many clouds and continuity of instability in the region. In addition to rain, cold air transport is expected to gain momentum between Thursday and Friday. With this, temperatures tend to decrease in the Paraná and other areas of the South of the country.
Warnings indicate risk of hail and strong winds
The Inmet yellow alert indicates potential danger, with the possibility of hail, gusts of wind up to 60 km/h and rain of up to 30 millimeters per hour or 50 millimeters per day. In areas under orange alert, the forecast is for more severe conditions: winds of up to 100 km/h, the possibility of hail and precipitation of up to 60 millimeters per hour or 100 millimeters per day.

This Wednesday, the orange warning covers virtually the entire Paraná, with the exception of the southern extreme. For Thursday, the area of greatest risk is concentrated in the North and the Pioneer North.
The forecast needs attention in the coming days.
The sequence of instabilities keeps the attention focused on the evolution of the weather until Friday. The values presented in the alerts represent predicted possibilities for the areas covered, and not the occurrence of the same rain volumes or wind speeds in all municipalities.
