Students participate in vehicle rescue training in Ponta Grossa
Firefighters' training in Ponta Grossa brings together students in accident simulations, vehicle cutting and rescue techniques.
The Fire Department training in Ponta Grossa brings together students on Friday (25) in a practical activity of vehicle rescue, with simulations of accidents, car crashes and procedures used in the rescue of victims.
The activity takes place in the fire brigade, between 13h30 and 17h30, and is part of the practical preparation of students for the attendance of occurrences involving traffic accidents.
During the training, different scenarios are set up to approximate the exercises to the situations encountered by emergency teams on a daily basis. Among them are vehicles positioned over other cars, simulating accidents of greater complexity.
Scenarios simulate real accidents
Firefighter students need to evaluate each scenario before starting the procedures. The activity involves techniques of stabilization of vehicles, access to victims and use of equipment for opening and cutting the structure of the automobiles.
The aim is to put in place the necessary procedures in situations in which a victim is trapped inside a vehicle after a collision.
In addition to the use of rescue equipment, participants also exercise decision-making during the service, taking into account the conditions of the vehicle and the safety of the operation.
Cutting vehicles is part of the activity
One of the training moments involves cutting the structures of the vehicles used in the simulations. The technique may be required in accidents in which doors, columns or other parts of the car make it difficult for teams to access the victims.
The exercises allow students to perform the procedures in a controlled environment before facing similar situations in real occurrences.
The Fire Department training in Ponta Grossa also has different response scenarios throughout the afternoon, allowing participants to face various situations and develop practical experience in vehicle rescue.
The program is scheduled to continue until 17.30 in the battalion of the Fire Department of Ponta Grossa.
